If they can find somebody cheap and young or an H1B to do it, fine - but they don't feel overpaying hoary, old experts in a discipline that likely isn't the company's core competency really buys them anything. In most firms, IT has failed to make the case to the business side that it is worth the money it wants.

It is good to have the cockroaches on FR identified. Your post did exactly that.

You are saying that it is fine to have American experts - who have taken years of work and often hundreds of thousands of dollars in investment to develop that expertise - get their economic worth wiped out by flooding the labor market. Those flooding the market don't serve in our military, don't hold American values, and have a massive predisposition to only hiring men (not women!) of their own nationality.

So again, thanks for outing yourself, cockroach!

I'm writing what corporate management thinks - not what I think. I think they are short-sighted morons, but they are ineducable on the subject of IT. Too many of them feel they got burned by the tech salary boom of the 90's and 2000's - and now it's payback time.
