NO!
It is a fulfillment of mathematics.
It’s not an eclipse all over the world.
I think the “American” part of the eclipse’s name connotes that.
Good grief - futures in tinfoil have skyrocketed. .
A little bit too much mumbojumbo about astrology mixed into prophecy for my taste.
Some Christians have the IQ of a turnip.
Fortunately, most are much smarter than this writer.
Hey, can you give me all your stuff on Aug 20?
I mean you won’t need it after that, right?
Sounds like something out of Ghostbusters.
Yes, that’s the point of this article. It proves that the Christian commentators who believe the August 21 eclipse fulfills prophecy are conflating astrology with prophecyand to the detriment of their credibility.
Sure, just give me your bank account information, and I’ll get it all transferred right over to you. Also, did I mention that my dad is the king of Nigeria? The prestige of his position should serve to alleviate any concerns you may have.
It is an occultation of one astronomical body by another. It is a result of physics and can be calculated thousands of years in advance.
Here are the cities where it’ll be strongest: https://www.greatamericaneclipse.com/best-places-to-view/
I get pretty tired of these “preachers” who reduce Christianity to astrology.
>> This article is not intended to belittle anyone, and the commentators mentioned above could be commended for their efforts to comprehend Bible prophecy <<
No need for the article to belittle the commentationists.
I think they belittle themselves adequately, without any outside help.
It’s not a fulfillment of biblical “prophecy.” It’s not the end times. The world is not ending. It’s a bleeding eclipse! The moon gets in the way of the Sun’s rays over certain parts of the world. It gets a little darker. People whose minds are riddled with superstition used to riot, kill themselves, offer human sacrifice to appease the “gods.” People in 2017 are a tad smarter than that.
Nope. Just a couple of rocks floating around in space and happen to align themselves with the sun casting a shadow; has happened many times over the centuries.
What did Jesus say?
Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
NO ONE KNOWS, which means... NO ONE KNOWS except the Father. Not you, not me, liars don’t know, Satan doesn’t know, angels don’t know. Jesus don’t know.
That was easy. Wasn’t it?
No chicken bones, astrological charts, tea leaves, animal guts, nothing.... will tell you otherwise.
My family and I will be watching the Eclipse from Greenville, NC with several other Christian families, we will be celebrating the heavens declaring the glories of God, not twisting the phenomenon into some crazy so called prophecy.
Since America is not mentioned in scripture, I doubt there’s much prophecy about us.
Yeah...we are in about center of the band in Oregon...I just can’t get hyped up about it tho.
