Except she isn’t a lesbian, and it isn’t about revenge, but survival. Other than DD it’s the best marvel/netflix adaptation yet.
Keep in mind Longmire is actually 2 different shows. The first 3 season were on A&E and there it was at best a nice show mostly enjoyable for being not CSI technobabble and focusing more on the police work of talking. And yes a few of those episodes have some pretty dumb stuff. With season 4 it moved to Netflix and got to start telling much deeper more intricate stories, no longer stuck on the “case a week” formula, more arcs. Much better show when they were freed from A&E.
That was good!
Glad I didn’t see it!
Here’s the scene I complained about:

He’s comically awful.
Depends on your POV. All her hetro relationships were a way of her coping with her guilt. She only beat up bad men, IIRC somehow had the misfortune of doing a woman wrong.
DD is/was good.
The writer guy storyline was too ridiculous.
I don’t think it’s reasonable to suggest that a character’s established and explicitly written sexuality is more dependent on a point of view than the writing. Certainly TV has made some absurd changes to established characters to insert homosexuality (Trueblood as an example), but to infer the opposite sexuality despite what they actually filmed seems equally absurd. In the Netflix adaptation the characters are complex, dialogue was clever, acting was fair, and the bad guy was simply excellent. Although now that I think about it they did make Jeryn Hogarth (male) into Jeri Hogarth (female and lesbian). Regardless, it was a strong series, particularly compared to Luke Cage which was horrible, and Iron Fist which was fair.
Thanks, Adam Hughes is one of my favorite pinup artists!
Jon Bernthal is great....had the “Walking Dead” gang taken Shanes’ lead , Negan would be a shoe-shine boy and all the Walkers would be beef-jerky.
I wasn’t too happy with the characters and story of TWD.
By the end of the second season, I wanted to see them all get killed. :)
Jon Bernthal though is very good as the Punisher.
Durus,
I had to back through the posts to find this.
I admit, you are right about Jessica Jones. I enjoy the writing and characters (the actress who plays Trish is under-rated).
I was about half-way through the first season and the writing seemed to me to be appealing to Man-hating lesbians. I quit watching.
When I saw there was a second season, I picked up where I left off and the following episodes didn’t have that vibe. Also, as you said JJ , and the rest are hero, except for Jeri. (JJ is not only cute, but hot)
Anyway, I’m enjoying the series but had a pang of guilt over my characterization.
Dare Devil and Jessica Jones seem to be the best of these Marvel Series.
I’m glad you got into it!
