There have been countless reports that Bill advised Hillary to ask for votes in the upper mid west etc... among other things but that Hillary and her campaign advisers dismissed his advice. For all offf Bill’s faults he is an astute politician. His wife on the other hand doesn’t have any natural talent for campaigning at all.

Perhaps it's just my confirmation bias, but it seems to me that he still wants her to be regarded (perhaps because she herself does) as someone who could potentially be a world leader.

Oh, no doubt about it. It's his access point to power and money. Watch, as soon, if at all, it looks like Chelsea could be a viable candidate, his public efforts will move towards supporting her. Fortunate for the country it looks like she's an even dimmer political bulb, and not quite as sociopath, than her mother.

Whatever we think of Bill, he is without doubt the best politician of our time.

That his wife refused to consider his revisions shows just how far gone she is. She displays classic narcissistic and sociopathic symptoms.

Adopting Bill’s suggestions would have improved the book and made her far more sympathetic to the unwashed. But, she’s so full of herself she can’t see it.

Hillary is a specific type of sociopath: she has an anti-social-personality-disorder. This explains why she made a rule in the WH that no one could make eye contact with her. It also explains her hyper-short fuse and violent temper tantrums. That is a prime symptom of the disorder. Here are some additional details:

More like YEARS.

There were some reports/rumors that BJ spend a lot of time at his 'library' in LR in the closing weeks of the campaign. Better there than having to listen to The Screech and dodge lamps and ashtrays.

The only times they ever appeared together was for political purposes. Whenever Hillary's campaign seemed to be floundering (2008 and 2016), Hillary would bring out ole BJ to help her.

Hillary was too stubborn to take advice, even if it was from a former twice-elected president and her hubby. Around the time of the convention, her advisers told her the women card was not playing well with focus groups. She dropped that for a while, but in the latter days of the campaign, she latched onto it again -- she so wanted to break the glass ceiling and saw harping on women's issues as her only strength. That did present her with another excuse for her loss, however.

I never believed those stories. Bill Clinton's ego is far too large to ever stoop to doing anything more than a photo op at that dump.

Whatever we think of Bill, he is without doubt the best politician of our time.

He was a great con man, so, yeah, sorta. OTOH, he never ran against a good candidate. He had Bush and Dole, who were the epitome of the "my turn" branch of the Republican party. If Hillary could have run against Jeb!, which was what the establishment Rs wanted, she would have won. It would have, at best, been another instance of half the Republicans putting clothespins on their noses and going to vote for a loser, like we did with McCain.
