Christie is stepping up to the plate this morning, unfortunately it’s the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet next to the capitol.

Completely forgetting whether the NYT has any sort of accurate information (which I consider doubtful) I am distinguishing between the “rights” to the PROFITS from a company versus the rights to its PRODUCT OUTPUT.

If I buy GE common stock, this does not entitle me to price reductions on incandescent lightbulbs (do they even make those any more?) nor locomotives nor jet engines. If I buy CAT stock this does not entitle me to a discount on a bulldozer.

Now one could reasonably ask “why then would the Russians do this if they weren’t getting ore out of the deal?”. That’s a valid question and I don’t know the answer. Personally I think this is more a money laundering deal than an ore deal but I cannot pretend to know. I could answer “perhaps to get evidence of the ready “bribeability” of the Clintons whom they expected to win ‘16 and to obtain an extortion lever over her/them. I could equally reasonably ask “Why would the Russians, thinking they were getting ore rights, buy ore that they know is a strategic asset of the US EVEN IF it is mined (some) in Canada and thus subject to export scrutiny?”

I really don’t know the answer. I’m equally as suspicious of criminal intent and action on the part of the Clintons as you probably are. But I suspect it is not a bumperstickerism “ooooh, look, HRC sold 20% of US uranium to the Russians”.

The Russian government’s Rosatom owns 100% of Uranium One, which owns the rights to the 40% of the world’s uranium production in Kazakhstan as a start. Of course it’s entitled to the production, and can sell it at any discount it wants to anyone it wants.

President Trump tweeted this morning wondering where the justice department is...it’s like Sessions has set himself up to be AWOL in the biggest scandal going, and passes on the responsibility to a swamp creature.

DOJ and Sessions work for Trump. Trump should be calling Sessions on the carpet and asking him directly, and then telling Sessions what he wants.

“I believe the proper thing for me to do, would be to recuse myself from any questions involving those kind of investigations that involve Secretary Clinton and that were raised during the campaign or to be otherwise connected to it.”

Sessions is selfish. If he cared about the country, given what he thinks is a conflict of interest, he never should have taken the job.

The AG is a waterboy. Needs to get sent to the locker room. He’s cocked up everything he touches because at heart, he is a Senator first and a man second.

Sessions completely folded in all of the 20 seconds he spent on the issue. Wouldn’t discuss any possible investigation, and said everything is completely up to Rosenstein. Grassley moved on immediately too, complete sham.

I have come to agree that Sessions should not have accepted the job. But keep in mind that any AG has to be careful not to compromise investigations or prejudice prosecutions.

Congressional hearings are scripted and based on negotiated questions and answers.

Are you listening to him this morning. I have heard him tell Feinstein politely to go to hell a couple of times. He is not going to reveal anything he doesn’t want to imo. I’ll probably listen to the hearings all day.
