The gunsmith blamed cheap practice ammo and Im inclined to believe it. From then on it gets premium handloads with premium bullet and a solid crimp. No problems since.
Granted I dont shoot it much. Its hard to drop the hammer on a pistol worth 2 Grand. Of course I dont have that issue with the Kimber 1911s.
Best,

I have owned a bunch of great revolvers. They were about as good as it is possible to make one.
Ones that stand out in my memory for smooth actions, beautiful finish and most of all, accuracy, follow. S&W model 57, 27, 29, 17, 19 and model 25. Of them all I might just pick a model 27 with an 8 and 3/8 inch barrel, target everything.
I used that model 27 in an all comers shoot and would have won had I not messed up my score. Hard to say tho as the others were just about as good.
A couple of Super Blackhawks, several Single Six’s and a Redhawk. The Single Six’s and Redhawks were not as well finished as the Smiths but were great shooters. One of the Super Blackhawks was beautiful.
Some others were an old Colt official police .38 which had the best action I have ever tried. An unusual 5 inch barrel model 10, and a very old Colt New Service .45LC.
Plenty of other good ones. If I had to choose just one, I don’t think I could but that model 57 in .41 mag might be the one.
I had a Dan Wesson 357 that jammed due to sand inside it (bad sandstorm). I’ve had a 22 revolver jam due to build-up between the cylinder and forcing cone. I’ve also had a strain screw come loose and give primer strikes too light to fire (S&W 686).
Jake: This car. This stupid car! Where’s the Cadillac? (beat) The Caddy! Where’s the Caddy?
Elwood: The what?
Jake: The Cadillac we used to have. The Bluesmobile!
Elwood: I traded it.
Jake (with disbelief): You traded the Bluesmobile for this?
Elwood: No, for a microphone.
Jake: A microphone? (beat) Okay I can see that.
Don’t know guitars very well but that sounds very cool.
Well, I’m just behind you then, but for old school cool I do like my 1952 K-38 Target Masterpiece. I won’t get into the others. But I am a wheel gun fan.
There is that for sure, and mine was my dads duty weapon. Watch yer knot.
I guess I’m fortunate. My wheelguns have run real well.
Revolvers have never been a problem
Here either...
All MY issues have been with
Semi-Autos.
Go figure.
Something that can do more than give a big bear a headache from a shot to the skull makes more sense.
