He strangely echoes a post made by a government plant poster named “FAA”.
Youre shooting at a symptom.
The cultural war is bigger than Youtube.
Its actually spiritual warfare and its huge.
Use symtoms to fight the cause.
Not sure what youtube you’re watching. You can watch hundreds upon hundreds of hours of conservative videos. I spend many evenings watching Shapiro, or Coulture, Crowder, Milo, Tucker, Katie Hopkins...the list goes on and on. Am I missing something?
I think that is an excellent suggestion. We should never drive traffic to people who hate us. We should be working on ideas to cut their financial throats.
One example:
YouTube Bans All Gun Demonstration Videos

Your comment is rude and insulting. Those who are able and do support FR are greatly appreciated, but your condescension is not. You have no way of knowing the health and financial circumstances of other members.
“Free Republic is not a for profit commercial enterprise in the sense of a traditional business selling a product or service at a profit for its shareholders. We sell no product or service. We have no clients, customers or employees. We do not accept paid advertising. Free Republic is not affiliated with any political party, group, news source, government agency or anyone else.”
“Free Republic is not a traditional business. We are a political discussion forum and independent grassroots conservative activist group supported by donations from our readers and participants. When and if our participants decide we are no longer needed or viable, we will close down shop and go away.”
The point appears to me that FR is NOT bought and paid for. While I may disagree with MeganC on whether we should post YouTube video links, I don’t think how much she does or does not contribute is at all a reasonable basis for determining whether her advice is sound.
I find it interesting that it is always the folks who are not in the 300 Club who find it “rude” to suggest that people actually support FreeRepublic.com.
I searched for “Cheapest Internet” and it appears $240 a year is the cheapest, with $600 per year being about average. Mine is $960 a year, but I am paying for high bandwidth and no throttling.
All we are asking is for everyone to contribute $400 a year so we won’t have to have the quarterly Freepathons. That is about $1.10 per day. Is that too much to ask for no ads, no pop-ups, and intelligent conversations?
This time we will have less than a week between Quarterly Freepathons. Is it “rude” to ask folks to help at least reduce the length of the campaign?
I watched half of it.
The voice was putting me asleep.
I don’t like videos.
Time sink. I can read 4 articles in 15 minutes.
People should bullet point stuff like that.
As of this morning, I am unable to access YouTube......
This sh*t works...have been unable to access YouTube since this morning but can now by just replacing youtube.com with hooktube.com.....the bomb, thx.
por nada.
Hat tip, again, thanks.
Great stuff on YouTube - I’ll continue to use - but I certainly won’t sign up or register or whatever it is you can do with Google to get special privileges and post your own material - just as I won’t sign up on Facebook or Twitter or any of the rest - specifically because I don’t want my data mined and used against me eventually.....
Again, not sure what you’re talking about. Just this second I watched a great demo video on youtube of the SOCOM II rifle. There’s thousands of gun videos on there. Haven’t seen anything pulled.
“Mine is $960 a year, but I am paying for high bandwidth and no throttling.”
Thank you for supporting this site. People like you make it possible.
“Is it ‘rude’ to ask folks to help at least reduce the length of the campaign?”
No, but it is rude to insult people for not being on a list of donors. It is reasonable to ask for donations. It is not reasonable to tell people their suggestions are unworthy of consideration unless they do.
If that is the model Jim wants to go to, he could easily require a subscription. He chose not to do so. He also chose not to accept advertiser money. There are pros and cons to this model. The great thing is that he is beholden to no one. Of course it means the money needs to come from somewhere, and so campaigns are needed.
Again, thanks for doing your part, and more. I’m not trying to be rude or insulting to you. I’m just suggesting that you should phrase your appeal for more donations in a way that does not insult people. If MeganC was asking for something that costs money, it might be reasonable to bring up how it relates to raising money. But making the value of someone’s opinion to be based on how much they donate is not a good approach.
MeganC contributes a lot of postings which are important to make this sight a central repository of current conservative thought. This alone will not keep the sight running, obviously. But it does also bring value.
My two cents.
youtube needs some robust competitors
no company should be allowed to monopolize an entire industry, especially when it is at least partially involved in news and information dissemination
Not imagined.
They will put it into effect in 30 days.
