Pure garbage as usual. Author clearly knows NO Evangelicals and is merely repeating every lie made up by the Left about them.

Unfortunately, there are many Christians who live in the same kind of self-condemnation and self-loathing that the SJW's live under.
However, that is changing as the true Gospel of the Grace of Christ is spreading throughout the church and many believers' live are being transformed and set free by the revelation of the love, goodness, and grace of God in Christ.
The difference between SJW's and grace-based evangelicals is the difference between night and day.

Actually, I like this argument, but NOT because it is True or untrue. Its because it works against liberals when discussing the SJW movement.
I dont agree at all with the basic premise, but Liberals being idiots, they do. Its the same way I point out the stupidity of today's moral panics, by comparing them with the right leaning moral panics of the past.

As a Catholic with a capital C, I reject this hogwash.
"Evangelical" does not man "specifically represent the extremes of our society,[] dominated by puritanical thinking and authoritarianism."
"Evangelical" means Christian churches that emphasize the teachings and authority of the Scriptures.
This author is not only a bigot; he's a dumb bigot.

Evangelicals aren't in the business of being "puritanical" (whatever that is). All Christians are called upon to be evangelical and bring the good news of the Gospel to all.
Evangelicals are open and welcoming, and would be the first to tell you that they themselves are sinners in need of a Saviour. You can be a Baptist, or Methodist, or nondenominational and be an "evangelical". Even Catholics are called upon to be evangelical. It is a basic tenet of Christianity.

I consider myself an evangelical Christian, but I am also a classical liberal who believes God granted us liberty.
That said, I must admit that the Moral Majority did have many campaigns of this nature during the 80s: video games, rockespecially heavy metal, Dungeons and Dragons, various tv shows and booksHarry Potter anyone? It happened and it was roundly condemned and ridiculed. The whole concept of social conservatism had it roots in this movement.
Yall can say youve never seen it, but there have always been zealots. Its just no one paid attention to zealots until recently. They were viewed as very strange, obsessed people, probably because they were very strange, obsessed people. We laughed at them and rightly considered them crazywe didnt try to accommodate them through law!
These were never evangelical Christians; anymore than the God hates fags folksthey were just weirdos. Christians dont coerce obedience; they try to live it.
Parents should make sure their kids dont have inappropriate materialsnot the government. I dont want the government having any say in how I raise my kids or telling them whats right and wrong.
