Democrat presidential hopeful Eric Swalwell on Friday threatened that he would use nuclear weapons against American citizens on American soil if they revolted against his plan for mandatory gun confiscation.

Responding to a column Rep. Swalwell wrote earlier this year calling for mandatory gun confiscation and “going after resisters,” conservative commentator Joe Biggs said that means Swalwell basically “wants a war.”

“You’re outta your [bleeping] mind if you think I’ll give up my rights and give the gov all the power,” Biggs said.

I don't think that he has thought this through. If he carries out the plan, he is going to irradiate vast swaths of the country and destroy much of its food production capability. In a thermonuclear civil war, there are no winners, and the survivors are going to be very hungry.

Swalwell is finishing his 3rd term as a Congress Critter. His biggest contribution to the country that I can see is that he beat out "Pete" Stark in 2012, who makes Mad Maxine look almost sane.

However, if he is on record with his little screed about nuking cities and mandatory confiscation of guns, I figure he'll lose about 47% of the potential voters right there. Of course, in 2020, that might mean that 57% of the "voters" are still with him, but I digress.
