Most buildings in NYC have bars at ground level windows. My last apartment was on the ground floor on East 25th Street. There were bars. Great apartment, too.

Well, forget guns in NYC. If she’s smart (as I was) she won’t need them. Tell her to always look one block beyond the block that she is walking on.
Before that, "wolf packs" [see Diana Ross concert, Times Square at New Years Eve, Dick Button etc] had been the vernacular - but its use was halted as it implied that "certain groups of people" were somewhat less than human.

Unfortunately, Ken Burns (with violins and guitars crooning) has turned these men into The Scottsboro Boys and we have the usual wet conservatives of FR believing him.
Collecting DNA evidence back then was still in the stone age and they didn’t rape her, they bashed her face in with the same lead pipe they used to bash in a guys head earlier. They then groped her, grabbed her breasts. Read this article, this is from the lead cop in the case who BTW is black. My theory is these punks attacked this woman, beat her unconscious and robbed her and this other punk came along and raped her.
