Your Mask Is Making You Meaner, Dumber, More Afraid & Less Safe

...Because you’re wearing one, you’re mad at anyone else who isn’t. You can’t say with any real certainty or evidence that you know you’re right to wear one, or that the other person is wrong not to. But that’s what you were told, and you believed it. So you decided to get a mask and wear it and yes it’s a pain but you believe it’s part of a noble, collective effort to work together and do something big. And so when you see someone who isn’t wearing a mask, you take it personally. You’ve been told that that person doesn’t care about your health and safety. And you believed it. And so you see the person who isn’t wearing a mask as a bad person; one who isn’t willing to chip in, as you are, for the collective greater good. And worse, you see someone who doesn’t care if he or she puts others in harm’s way. You’re wrong. And I’ll explain why shortly. But that hostility you feel for those not wearing masks is both unhealthy and unfounded. Your mask is making you meaner...

Same here, I find the sheeple rude and fearful. When Walmart put up the sign that said children and those with breathing difficulty would be excused, I tried going without a mask, planning to cite breathing difficulty if challenged. Nobody did, but there have been incidents in my central PA region (one person in a motorized cart got punched by another person for not wearing a mask); so I haven’t gone shopping and won’t wear a mask anywhere. People working for me are more than happy to do a few extra chores, run errands, now that Walmart has a line outside, waiting their turn to enter. Ten feet apart and all are masked.

It’s Pennsyltucky. People smoke, they jaywalk, they get drunk, they drive without papers...and yet most of them are going about masked and scared to talk to me, because of a flu almost no one around here has, and no one in my county or the next has died of it.

I see that kind of crap every day! I’m a professional shopper so I’m out in the stores every day. People with masks on feel that they’re 10 foot tall and bulletproof. Take it right up behind you in produce and think nothing of it. Rich around you in the meat cases. I see them as weak, easily controlled and quite frankly in dire need of the red pill.

So do I. This is just the newest example of the stupidity that happened.

In my state, mostly women and old people are wearing masks. I’ve seen no hostility of one group (wearing masks) toward the other (not wearing masks). I credit that to people respecting individual choices. It’s downright American.

The size of the virus is tiny compared to the openings in the average piece of fabric used to make masks.
It’s like a fly going through an open window...

Masks are a virtue signal device for liberal snowflakes, not much more.

Anyway, this blogger is full of himself

You are spot on. I read the first half of his snarky rant and kept thinking this is BS.

Strangely, in my section of OK, ever since elective surgeries resumed & personal care places re-opened on April 24, and restaurants re-opened yesterday, I’ve seen fewer masks in the grocery stores, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, etc. But those who do wear them here aren’t particularly hostile toward those who don’t. More like they just ignore them, do their thing, and go home.

After reading about the experiences of some Freepers, I’m more and more glad that I live where I do.

Forget the mask. How about the “distancing” even when it’s NOT the distance?

I just had an end to a frustrating day. I wear masks AND gloves even to the store. The store is now trying to direct people how to walk etc. except they don’t actually police it. People are going the “wrong way” all the time.

But God forbid we break their red line at the check-out.

I’m irritated in general and just wanted to start loading the belt AT THE END while the earlier customer is finishing and ready to leave. But because the red line (which tells us “6 ft”) is behind the entire belt area, I’m told again I need to stand at the red line.

It’s well beyond 6 ft...more like 11...and I again protest that. “How do you know”...”because I AM 6 ft and if I lie down I won’t come close to touching you even at the end of the counter.”.

So I’m just irritably goingin off on this.

Cashier even asks would I want the next person breathing on my groceries...good point but still doesn’t take into account the 6ft idea which is pushed everywhere. And what about the fact we’re all in masks? Never mind my gloves?

Exactly..I mean, where a mask, don’t wear a mask, I personally don’t care. For me...for now..when going to town, I wear a mask. I don’t want to wear a mask, but I wear one because while chances are low, I don’t want to catch this. What others do is up to them. That is freedom.

But let me just deal with this point by point.

Jews in Germany did not have guns. True.

Jews in Israel do have guns.

The SS is in no way a presence in Israel. Wearing masks does not empower the SS or take away anyone’s guns. It’s dumb. It’s petty. It’s useless. But so is not being able to buy unpasteurized milk if you like it or want to pasteurize it yourself on your stove.

Train service in Israel is comfortable, roomy, and not in any sense pointed towards a concentration camp.

So enough with the shallow and bogus comparisons. Nazi Germany this is not. It’s the Jewish State. Socialist, yeah. Dysfunctional, yeah. But Nazis are not welcome here, let alone in power.

Here is what I have learned because my son has mental disabilities and cannot wear a mask. Anyone anywhere can say to a store they have a medical reason they can’t wear one, then you can legally invoke HIPPA. You don’t have to tell them why. Just bring up “manager, ADA, and HIPPA” and you will see some ass kissing, and carefree shopping without a mask in all 50 states.

If there isn’t there will never be a vaccine either. So we need to choose now.

Marcus Aurelius

He modified the silver purity of the Roman currency, the denarius. The persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire is believed to have increased during his reign. The Antonine Plague broke out in 165 or 166 and devastated the population of the Roman Empire, causing the deaths of five million people.

Maybe you need to rethink whom you quote?

Hey FluBros.. Go ahead and be angry about the continued Shut downs.. I am, too! Just don’t vent your anger at people with high risk health issues wearing bandanas or masks.. You think we like you smirking at us?

...So ragging on mask wearers when you don't know their reason for wearing it is just as bad as ragging on one not wearing one and you not knowing the reason.

Used to be everybody used to mind their own frigging business and if you were uncomfortable with someone you just kept the hell away from them. Not start a confrontation that might spiral out of control.

I would never get in someone's face about wearing a mask or no mask, and I haven't had anyone do so to me either. I would have a short fuse for someone doing that to me in person as well.
On FR, I expressed the way I thought about it, and I appreciate your viewpoint.
If people truly can't wear a mask because of certain lung problems, I can appreciate that.
I know that the 30-70% of people I saw without masks at the store can't all have those issues, but I TRY not to judge individuals because it serves no purpose and I don't know each individual's circumstances.
I see them overall and sigh, then come on FR and vent, I guess.

Be well!
