So what? If you think swamp creatures have any objection to applying invalid rules, you have not been paying attention. They have control of the process, so they can push through whatever they want, regardless of the rules.
Anyone who objects can take their objections to the Supreme Court who will gladly give them a hearing months after the issue is already moot.

If we have learned nothing else over the past generation, it is that the Deep State does not need to abide by anything resembling Constitutional, legislative or judicial legitimate authority. We have witnessed brazen lawlessness in broad daylight with no perpetrator ever being held accountable. And no, I do not consider getting a cable show or mega-dollar book deal “being held accountable.”
I expect both Pelosi and McConnell to have their respective Sergeants-at-Arms waiting at the door to drag out anyone impertinent enough to demand “regular order” of following the law or anything so arcane. They will declare any motion to challenge the EC to be “out of order” and if the member(s) make a ruckus they will be physically removed. For Hawley this is his make-or-break moment, if he can make enough noise he will gravitate into Trump’s slipstream and probably be the GOP candidate in 2024. That would be great if he could have Trump’s fire-in-the-belly but with vastly superior manners, intelligence and political knowledge.
