Given the heroic deeds of Brian Williams, I find it totally believable that Barris was a cia assassin.

I always desperately wanted the urban legend about Fred Rogers being a accomplish and deadly sniper to be true!
Barris admitted on The Today Show, back in 1984, that “No, I was never a CIA hitman. I never did those things.”
He was a very talented man being an American game show creator, producer, and host. Barris was known for hosting The Gong Show and creating The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game. He was also a songwriter who wrote “Palisades Park”, recorded by Freddy Cannon. He wrote and published eight books:

Maybe a ‘cocaine assassin’...
I knew he was a trained killer after I saw him murder the brain cells of so many viewers of those shows.
Gong Show. The one act that I remember: three guys stood at table. The first guy brushed his teeth, rinsed his mouth and then spit into the class. The second guy grabbed the same toothbrush, brushed his teeth, used the same glass, rinsed his mouth, and then spit into the class. The third guy grabbed the glass and drank it. Barris and everyone else was super grossed out.
The man was a genius game show man.
And as wacky as a box of rocks.
