While many Republicans focus on President Joe Biden’s failed policies at the southern border, Rep. Matt Gaetz on Tuesday called attention to the “forgotten invasion” of Florida.

The Fort Walton Beach Republican toured the seas with the U.S. Coast Guard just off Miami to get a look at how the crisis of illegal immigration is affecting the Sunshine State.

The law says that employers with more than 25 must use e-verify to hire employees. That number should be 1 or more, not 25.... And the fine should be $10k/day per illegal employee with loss of business license after 3 days of non-compliance.

Make it tough for the illegals to be here and they will leave to return the legal way.....

Yep. My thoughts exactly. They will stay as long as they can work. If not they will vacate.

Yeppers, roofing crews don't run 25. Tough for hurricane season, but illegal immigration has destroyed domestic construction in many ways, even with the latest uptick in wages.

How can this be? The US Coast Guard is busy patrolling the Taiwan Straits.

I'm old enough to remember the Mariel boatlift. Castro dumped a bunch of criminals and mentally disturbed people on us.

Castro, taking advantage of Jimmy Carter’s open-door policy, forcefully deported convicted criminals, mental hospital patients, LGTBQ people and prostitutes—people Castro crudely labeled as “escoria” (trash). In total, some 125,000 Cubans left the island during the Mariel Boatlift: up to 20,000 had criminal records and thousands had served time in mental institutions.
