Trump Makes a Statement on COVID Vaccines, Brags About Nine Month Approval Time

Trump released the following statement on Truth Social, responding to Joe Biden’s State of the Union: "“The Pandemic no longer controls our lives. The Vaccines that saved us from COVID are now being used to help beat Cancer – Turning setback into comeback!” YOU’RE WELCOME, JOE, NINE MONTH APPROVAL TIME VS. 12 YEARS THAT IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN YOU!"

In the TruthSocial post above, Trump mentioned his nine-month approval time for Covid vaccines.

I am frankly shocked by the stupidity of both statements.

The vaccines did not “save us from the pandemic” - they made the pandemic worse. And being proud that such vaccines were pushed through in just nine months is perhaps a bit misguided.

Those of us on this board know the full vaxx story. However, 70% of Americans were vaxxed as of April 2023. Trump taking credit for the vaxx probably won’t change most our support, but it is another opportunity to stick it in Bye-Done’s face (and his handlers and co-conspirators).

I agree that the border is the most important problem.
Even bigger than the current foreign policy issues - China, Israel & Ukraine.

Yeah, that is NOT something to be crowing about. I’ve always said, he’s his own worst enemy. Keep his mouth shut and he would not have as many problems.

NO, Trump didn’t mandate the creepy synthetic mRNA injections. And General Leslie Groves didn’t drop Fat Man and Little Boy on Japan. Both bear responsibility (for good or ill) for the use of what they made possible.

It's the drug companies that are solely responsible for any side effects of the drugs they produce.

And, so long as there are no mandates, the individual that decides to get vaccinated is solely responsible for that decision.

The only politicians worthy of criticism in regard to the vaccines are the ones that tried to force citizens to get the jab.

Trump totally blew everything about covid and the vaccine but then again he was new to the BS government propaganda machine. That being said he still is clueless on covid and the vaccine.

Trump is his own worst enemy. A simple grasp of the facts would prevent such mistakes. Hod help us

I’m not armchair quarterbacking what he did as president, but I am doing it with this stupid post. He has a lot of positive things to post about, so tooting his horn about something that has harmed so many people is not a smart move as far as I’m concerned.

every person I meet who no longer has zeal for Trump say that Operation Warp Speed/the vax is the reason their support has cooled

Before giving Trump too much credit, remember he was out of office before the vax was in widespread distribution. Based on his performance on this issue before he left office, I think he would have mandated the shots if Birx and Fauci recommended it.

DeSantis pulled a bait and switch. I voted for him to be my Governor November, 2022 for a four year term beginning January 2023. Then he got bought off by Mini-Mind Billionaire AntiTrump donors. It seems you support bait and switch politicians.

No, I have a very low opinion of you and other Freepers. You disgust me. You know everything better than Trump, yet you have no success that compares or competes with Trump's.
How have you improved the lives of the lower and middle classes? You did nothing for them. Your claim to fame is to pooh-pooh Trump.

I miss cheap gas, food and low interest rates. I miss low inflation. I miss a secure border. I miss no wars. I miss taking on China. I miss making Iran poor. I miss having stopped Putin in his tracks(500,000 Ukrainians are now dead due to Biden's energy and foreign policies). I miss a sane economic policy. I miss a sane foreign policy.

Biden et al. thank you for your shortsighted posts.

"Based on his performance on this issue before he left office, I think he would have mandated the shots if Birx and Fauci recommended it."

That's an assumption you can't prove. It's simply speculation. You fail to recall that Mike Pence was in charge of the task force. We still have no knowledge as to what recommendations he made to Trump, nor those recommendations that Trump rejected. Pence was never asked about any of it, and likely never will be questioned about it. Democrats had no interest in investigating any of it after they took control of Congress in January 2021.

Besides Birx and Fauci, other members of the Covid task force were Vice Admiral Jerome Adams, Surgeon General; Alex Azar, Secretary of Health and Human Services; Stephen Biegun, Deputy Secretary of State; Robert Blair, Senior Advisor to the White House Chief of Staff; Ben Carson, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development; Francis Collins, Director of the National Institute of Health; Ken Cuccinelli, Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security; Kelvin Droegemeier, Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy; Thomas J. Engels, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; Admiral Brett Giroir, Assistant Secretary for Health; Joe Grogan, Director of the Domestic Policy Council; Stephen Hahn, Commissioner of Food and Drugs; Derek Kan, Executive Associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget; Larry Kudlow, Director of the National Economic Council; Chris Liddell, White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Coordination; Peter Marks, Director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research; Steven Mnuchin, Secretary of the Treasury; Robert C. O'Brien, National Security Advisor; Sonny Purdue, Secretary of Agriculture; Matthew Pottinger, Deputy National Security Advisor; Robert R. Redfield, Director of the CDC; Eugene Scalia, Secretary of Labor; Joel Szabat, Acting Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy; Seema Verma, Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; Robert Wilkie, Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

On February 26, 2020, Pence replaced Azar as the Chair of the Task Force.

Trump announced the formation of Operation Warp Speed on May 15, 2020. The first person received the shot on December 14, 2020, at which time, the election had already been stolen from Trump. The whole shebang was handed over to Biden on January 20, 2021, and the rest is history.

I do not agree with you at all.

Mr. Trump is responsible for his precious “Operation Warp Speed”, and all the horrors it produced.

“That’s an assumption you can’t prove.”

Hence, why I said “I think...” It’s also something you cannot disprove, and based on his actions in office and the way he keeps hawking the vax shots even now, I think my position is stronger than yours on this issue.

There WAS NOTHING WRONG with Operation Warp Speed. We in an pandemic. Getting out a vaccine was and should have been a priority.

Anything wrong with the vaccines was the fault of drug companies.

And, this idea there was no pandemic is lunacy. Of course, there was. It was unleashed on the world by China with help of Fauci.

Operation Warp Speed was a hideously bad idea from the beginning. Ill conceived, badly executed, and wrongly implemented. Don’t try to blame Fauci ... blame the man Donald Trump who put Fauci in charge.

In America, the buck stops at the Oval Office.

I wouldn’t expect you to understand that, but you had best learn.

What was wrong with it? EVERY country in the world was racing to develop a vaccine to combat Covid. Tens of thousands were dying.

Can you imagine the outcry if Trump hadn't pushed for a vaccine?

You appear to be either a Never Trumper or someone that isn't happy unless you're unhappy about something.

You can’t defend your position, so you turn to personal insults.

I’m not surprised.

I've done nothing but defend my position.

There wasn't a leader in world that wasn't, justifiably, pushing to get a Covid vaccine developed during the pandemic. Thousands were dying.

Trump would have been crucified for not doing so.

So, to blame him for that is lunacy.

Either get on the Trump train or get on the tracks.
