Biden admin isn’t fully convinced Ukraine can win, even with new aid

Despite the time and political capital spent on the $60 billion aid for Ukraine, some Biden administration officials are skeptical it’s enough for Ukraine to win its two-year war with Russia.

Battlefield dynamics have shifted a lot in the last few months, partly because Ukraine ran low on weaponry and ammunition while Congress debated authorizing more aid, according to three U.S. officials, all granted anonymity to detail sensitive internal thinking. During that period, Ukraine struggled to maintain eastern territory, though Russia didn’t make significant gains, either.

Russia maintains a manpower and weapons advantage, and it would take a lot to reverse months and years of territorial losses. U.S. officials also ask questions about Ukraine’s own tactics and priorities, especially after Kyiv’s counteroffensive failed, sapping forces of materiel and morale.

“The immediate goal is to stop Ukrainian losses and help Ukraine regain momentum and turn the tide on the battlefield. After that, the goal is to help Ukraine begin to regain its territory,” said one of the officials. “Will they have what they need to win? Ultimately, yes. But it’s not a guarantee that they will. Military operations are much more complicated than that.”

On Capitol Hill, lawmakers are also expressing concerns about whether more U.S.-provided weapons can lead to a Ukrainian defeat of Russia or if it’s just enough to temporarily fend off the invasion. “That’s the question,” said a senior Democratic Senate aide.

Thanks for the update.

Biden’s EO doubled prices paying for Putin’s invasion.

Putin was also behind the fracking bans.

All of the above would not be possible if the nation wasn’t hijacked by communists and Marxists.

“Well, there’s 60 billion dollars down the drain. Any more bright ideas, Biden?”

As I’ve been saying, all the Zeepers want now is to get Biden through the election without Ukraine being an issue. Based on the events on the ground in the past few weeks, I doubt that Putin allows such, but they can always hope...

I’ve always assumed TPTB are ok with Ukraine losing as long as it looks like we tried to help them.

Here's an current overview on the war in the Ukraine according to some Youtube channels.

Tonight I reviewed parts of some Russ/Ukraine war videos and heard about several rapid advances of Russia's military (control of villages and supply lines), and a reported capture of what may be an entire Ukrainian brigade, which has since surrendered. This has been the momentum (Russia taking over) for a few days on Alexander Mercouris' channel  (I think his reportage seems detailed and balanced), but Mercouris doesn't know how accurate the 'brigade' (size of capture) comment is, although his videos have previously been reporting on the encirclement of a group of Ukrainian troops in that area:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLSI3EpTY1w

A NATO friendly Youtube Channel (German public broadcasting) says a Ukrainian general reports that Russia has significant asset advantages - a rare admission.

TITLE: Ukraine's military chief: Significant Russian advantages in forces and resources | DW News

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZFASabDMjo

Here's a quote from text under that video at the link:

"Ukraine's top general says his forces have suffered several setbacks on the battlefield in the war against Russia. In posts made on social media on Sunday, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, said: "The situation on the front has worsened…The enemy has concentrated its main efforts on several areas, creating a significant advantage in forces and resources. The enemy is actively attacking along the entire front line, and making tactical gains in some areas…"

So I assumed that there would be a 'response' from YOUTUBE Zeepers claiming the Ukraine has Russia on the run, and I was right.

Right on schedule I saw a Ukrainian YOUTUBE account posting about 'the tables have turned!

TITLE: 28 Apr: Tables Turned Fast! Ukrainians Gained Air Superiority & Destroyed Russian Convoys

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33LL8vXRfEM

Another Pro Ukraine YOUTUBE channel, whom a FReeper exposed as monetized propaganda network hosted by a 'Ukrainian airline pilot' living in Sweden [Denys Davydov].

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNDIhBcVdrE

In the comments below that video is an example of the usual 'twist' placed on news and equipment given to Ukraine. 81 jets sounds, good, amIright?

That’s not a basic reality. Russia may hav been meddling with the US during the cold war, but England has been meddling with us since we became a nation. Otto von Bismarck noted that aside from fomenting the US civil war, the Rothschilds were behind the Lincoln assasination.

Ukraine elected a fool for president who does not value the lives or property of his people...he like many people on this board are not very smart and lack critical thinking skills.

There is a self righteous in them, like most democrats which blinds them...it is in Biden as well.

Once it become obvious that the sanctions had failed...Ukraine had no hope of defeating Russia and negotiation with a big loss of territory was the only option...now the very existence of the state as at stake as US money cannot kept the state afloat indefinitely...$60 billion here and there will destroy the US dollar and economy.

60 Billion for what?

Not sure they can win now?

They should have told congress and the people the truth. They gave Ukraine enough to bleed Russia, but never enough to restore its borders. They just wanted a new never ending war.

Ukraine can get new weapons but can’t replace the troops lost. Just prolonging the killing now.

Fight to the last Ukie Male. That will teach Putti-Poo a lesson.

Democrats "shaping the battlefield" of public perception and opinion with a pathway to avoid the more obvious "oops."

Public policy MUST NEVER be wrong, or the politics of the whole teeters.

This Biden-led NATO involvement in a still "officially" non-NATO war isn't working out as the campaign management for the coming election had hoped. Rather it seems to be another "high speed rail" project always needing more money and more money and -- surprise -- more money, all now on the public credit card.

Oops.

Ukraine has been losing way before this last 60 billion. Obviously, this 60 billion wasn’t to win a war.

Anyone who made sure to ignore all the Zeepertard propaganda and seek out the truth knew that Ukraine was toast.

If over 300 billion sent to Ukraine from all the sources did not work, it sure as hell isn’t going to work now.

It is a total disgrace that the Uke people keep getting dragged out and sent to die in a proxy war to enrich Zelensky and MIC of western countries.
