I love seeing the Dems and Euroweenies suddenly left with nothing to say.

A considerable change of subject:
I bought the neatest thingie yesterday. Perhaps y'all have seen it...a Christmas tree-watering device. It's a very long funnel. Plastic "cup" at the top with a funnel tube about 3 1/2 feet long. You stick it down through the back of the tree down into the container. The cup has a velcro tab which can be attached to a nearby branch.
Then you can simply pour water into the cup to water the tree...no getting on your knees, no spills. It also comes with a long "dip stick" with which you can detect when the water level is low.
As Martha would say, "It's a good thing".
(Home Depot, $5)

We were planning to go out and (finally) get a Christmas tree today, but it's snowing like crazy, and will continue to do so all day, with at least 4" already on the ground. Oh well. I guess I could clean house instead. Augghhhh!
To: mountaineer
Yeah, who wants to "throw up" a tree with all that fluffy stuff on the ground!

If only I had gotten a tree yesterday, pre-snow, but now I'm not too interested in driving the 8 miles or so to the nearest tree lot, as we're up to about 6". Something to put on tomorrow's to-do list, I suppose. Instead of cleaning house, I decided to bake cookies.

Dear Cookie Queen,
What time should I drop by to taste "the goods?"

He sorta reminds me of a Western movie villain, ala Jack Elam..hee hee
Loved the video clip of that poor medic having to comb through his hair for lice and cooties and then having him open his mouth wide...bet his breath knocked some socks off...
God Bless President Bush and our Military for their Patience and Perserverence...

I was delayed slightly by snow shoveling, so it will be a few hours. The dough for pinwheels is chilling, and I'm mixing up Oatmeal-Choc. Chip cookies right now. Say, about 3 p.m.?
To: mountaineer
Can you just slip them into the "auto feed" slot on your printer?!

Big surprise:
NEW York magazine didn't make much of an effort to hide its leftist leanings with the slate of honorees to whom it will present awards tomorrow at the Four Seasons restaurant. Not only will Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton be saluted, so will two of her most biting anti-President Bush attack dogs: Al Franken and Tim Robbins. Adding to the decidedly Democratic flavor is an award for Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg. (Page Six)

I am so happy for the Iraqi people. Those photos are priceless.

NBC reporters like Bob Arnot (among others, I imagine) were trying desperately to convince us the Iraqi people were not pleased with this development. Lester Holt and Chris Matthews bandied about the notion that Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism (apparently not having read the article in today's
Telegraph, "Terrorist behind September 11 strike was trained by Saddam"). Peter Jennings made some crack about Saddam's capture having pleased
some people, apparently excluding his own bad Canadian highschool dropout self from that category. And so it goes ...

I'm home, after spending nearly a week in Phoenix where it rained, and was chilly. We sat around a fire and drank strawberry daquaris.
I don't have time to go back and read the missed threads. Is there an update on JL's daddy?
179 emails were waiting for me when I returned. Most needed answering.

I am going on another midnight run tonight.
I am so sick of the yuppie houses around here with the NO WAR signs.
I made a bunch of I LOVE SADDAM signs and will be stapling them over their NO WAY signs. Good morning to them and everyone who drives past their stupid houses.
Sometimes my Irish temper gets the best of me.
