The Hobbit Hole IX - A sudden tree or standing stone

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

EEK!

Good to hear that you've found some other worthwile pursuits and subjects, away from the person mentioned.
Hear about the extended soundtrack?
Heard a rumor about it, haven't personally checked it out yet.

Yeah...I wish there was a way to sue them. They are like squatters, only the instant they show up on your 'property' they disappear, as their addresses are never legitimate. They are like the illegals who come through the ranchland and leave all their defecations and trash behind. By the time you discover it, they are long gone and you are unable to mete out justice. A blacklist program was created to implement, but the people who created it have such a complicated way of installation, that it was more work to figure it out than I can spend time or energy on.

Saw you the other day on an artillery thread. (Durned if I can remember which one!) Have been having some fun recently at White Sands and thought of you. Big guns go boom = bad guy goes splat. Sucks to be the bad guy.

*scratches head*
I shoulda said that first, right?
*chuckle*

Heard a mild rumor about an 'extended soundtrack' pack.
Nothing solid, nothing accurate, just a "There's talk of an extended soundtrack cd pack to coincide with this" type thing.
Dunno if it's accurate, haven't bothered checking yet.
Been busy with other stuff lately.
*snort*

I had heard about the extended soundtrack as well, but havent gone to TORn to verify...is the theatrical version of ROTK to come out on May 25th? And are we going to have to wait until this November to get the extended version?

*UGH!*
Yeah, the blacklist proggies are always FUN to install.
And sometimes they can be spoofed.
But they're better than nothing.

Haven't played with them personally, yet, but the time taken to get versed in it may be worth the extreme frustration, bitten knuckles, server timeouts, and other annoyances with setting it up.

Good luck, Godspeed.

Patrick O'Brian's series of novels about an 18th century English naval captain, Jack Aubrey, and his good friend, a surgeon and naturalist, Stephen Maturin. The movie with Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany came out last December...it didnt get much publicity because it was eclipsed by LOTR:ROTK. Teh books themselves are far more comprehensive than the movie, and enjoyable reading.

LOL!
Probably the recent Stryker SP howitzer thread.
The older thread is where a possible troll dropped in.
So far he has only 5 comments to his name, all info we already knew from the updated thread, and he signed up today to hit an old thread.
*sigh*

Artillery, paid to blow things up and break things!

is the theatrical version of ROTK to come out on May 25th?

Yes, there is a link to buy it on the Freeper Hobbit Hole website.

And are we going to have to wait until this November to get the extended version?

Yes.

I think yer right, it was a Stryker howitzer. It's gonna have to have a pretty robust suspension. I hear that's the week point for the m1064 and it doesn't have the purty tires to worry about.
