From the website:
Looks like a great movie starring a patriotic celeb and a great tribute to the generation we should be emulating at this time. I just caught Tom Selleck on FoxNews and he said "In Time Of War, We All Should Support The Troops And The President" because "The Terrorists Are Watching Us"

But, Tom Selleck as Ike?
Is Magnum going to play a little old bald guy?

(Shudder) Making me feel old here, y'all!

Remembering D-Day And The Greatest Generation

Looks like a great movie starring a patriotic celeb and a great tribute to the generation we should be emulating at this time. I just caught Tom Selleck on FoxNews and he said "In Time Of War, We All Should Support The Troops And The President" because "The Terrorists Are Watching Us"

Ike: Countdown to D-Day

Monday, May 31 at 8:00 PM ET
A&E

The film opens in March of 1944, just three months prior to D-Day, as General Eisenhower persuades Winston Churchill to make him the supreme commander of the coming assault on Hitler's European torture. As D-Day draws near, Eisenhower deals with the politics of war and it becomes clear that his power is his greatest burden, yet also his undeniable destiny. Eisenhower's true leadership is exemplified throughout the film as he prepares to send legions of young soldiers into the path of evil to fight the most infamous and significant battle of WWII. Tom Selleck stars as Ike.

"Looks like a great movie starring a patriotic celeb..."

I caught this interview too, and will make a point of watching this movie. If I like it, I will make a point of contacting A&E to encourage them in making similar productions. Activism is not just negative protest.

OK but it was the wrong actor. He looks nothing like him at all.

I thought the same thing but I've seen the commercials and there is one shot in which he really does look like Ike.

I can't wait to see it... (course I'm a female "of that age" which would watch just about ANYTHING with Tom Selleck in it.. laugh

I saw the interview...

..he conveyed intelligence and genuine interest in the part....very articulate.

I didn't get the impression ..(from the 'stills') that I was watching Tom Selleck play Ike.....I thought he looked the part.

Seems to be the prevailing mood amongst females!

(Probably is also amongst some males too.)

Wish I looked like him!

I was wondering that - too much hair - and Ike was literally pretty smooth (not folds of skin like Selleck)! But hey, Ike is not "little".
