Why does FOX have to yak over the ceremonies in Rome?
Thank you...
I think I'll go take a shwoer. Keep me posted.
Mute button.
I rather liked their coverage of the ceremony. The spoke a little in the beginning to set it up, but then let it go silent for quite some time. I thought it was well done.
shwoer should be shower!
Fox news thinks, like the rest of them, that our attention must be constantly dazzled by graphics, split screens, talk and moving graphics. The only good news I see is that Fox and MSNBC both have gotten rid of the annoying news ticker at the bottom of the screen.
I'll take that as at least a small victory for the senses.
Maybe you're right. I am not one for rituals.
Thank You both for you answer.
I thought so too. I assume the wanted to keep the more mature hosts out of reverence to the Pope. You've got to admit, Juliet is a bit spacey at times.

I think FNC has really handled the ceremonies well. All class. I don't think that they have been overdoing the graphics at all.
I think ED can be spacey too!
Verizon? :)
OOPS, I think You directed that post to the wrong person, I also have been enthralled by all of the coverage. I find the rituals beautiful, and I tend to be grateful when they have someone explain what is going on. I have found they have done a good job.
Personally, I like having all the ceremony and tradition explained. I'm not Catholic, so I don't have any idea what any of it means without the explanation. And, I would guess, this is the first death of a pope in the memory of many Catholics, and the first since the onset of live coverage in living color. Most people have never seen any of this before, and informed explanation is valuable.
I've been switching back and forth between Fox and MSNBC.
My mother's satellite went out over the weekend and I'm in the process of finding someone who can repair it asap. I hate she is missing all this wonderful coverage, the stories shared by those who knew the Pope, and the pomp and circumstance of it all. She told me the other day that my father once had an audience with Pope John Paul II, but couldn't recall any specifics, only that he flew to Rome with a General Hunter. Bless her heart, she'll be 85 next month, so I'm not demanding details.
I'd suggest also trying CNN, they were the only station with an actual translator for the ceremony this morning.
Good tip... Ordinarily I would never look there for good coverage. ;~D
Blech...blasphemy....heheheh. I understand the desire for translators, but as for the actual ceremony, I kind of enjoy just observing...if I were actually there, I wouldn't know any better either. Furthermore, CNN makes me feel a little like how I feel when I eat bad mexican food or start coming down with the flu.
