Tips for inducing labor?

I realize this isn't a typical question on FR, but I am looking for any advice I can get. I was due to have my 3rd baby on August 12, and as of yet, she is a no-show. I was wondering if anyone knows of any safe ways to bring on labor. I bought a bottle of castor oil today, but that will be my last resort. If you've tried this, did it work? I've heard mixed reviews on it.

Any info/advice/stories would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

How to post a picture

The picture has to be hosted online. photobucket has free webspace you can use to host your pictures.

= (tells the computer that you are going to put in a destination)
"URL" (The url of the picture goes between quotation marks)

put it all together and you get (with an unneeded space between the first karat and the img) < img src="http://webpages.charter.net/trussell/pictures/Hello%20stick%20person.gif"> This is the URL for the picture of the waving stick figure.

Take the space out after the first karat (<) and you would get …

We arrived at the hospital room at 1:35 AM and she was born at 2:01.....CONGRADULATIONS!!

I surely would have had more than three if I could have had them that fast.

My shortest labor was 9 hours and longest was 48.

I was three weeks overdue with baby #1. This was back before inducing labor was so routine. Tried the castor oil w/ orange juice (doc had told me: sure, might as well try it.). Three hours later I was on the toilet. 4 hours after that, I had a brand new baby girl. Did the castor oil do it? We'll never know, will we?
