Did anyone see the interview on Fox News?

Posted on 09/03/2005 3:18:10 PM PDT by Jeff Chandler

I just saw a white guy on Fox charge that white people in surrounding counties are being ignored. Any comments?

Actually- that's untrue. There are parish's to the east of NOLA that are just as much underwater...but..you have to tune into TWC (which has had some superb footage) and Ron Blome on the dreaded MSNBC to see them. There are entire neighborhoods that are completely inaccessible except by choppers.

This is part of the problem. Our perception has been SO distorted by what the MSM is showing we don't know all the facts.

Saw bits of it. What I got was he was tired of the race card being played.

The most memorable Fox folks on the ground are the Drama Queen boys, Shep Smith and Jerry Rivers. I like them, but they are so hammy it's amazing!

YES! And Greta Van Susteren was losing it yesterday afternoon--either too much caffeine or not enough sleep. But she seemed much better last night on her show.

I swear that Shep reminds me of a pro wrestling announcer from the 1970s. :-)

If they are on the roof and are in the area that's flooded, the search and rescue operation is underway. They will be tended to in due course.

Everybody can't be saved at one time!

Sometimes life is unfair isn't it? That's gonna' happen in a Catastrophe such as this nation has not seen (relatively speaking) since a massive flood on the Ohio River in the last century.

Bill O'R said something like that I think in his farewell to Shep Thursday night, saying along the lines of "I hope you win that award you're shooting for."

I got the impression it was a belittling comment. :-)

I think he may find that the self-reliant are being helped less than the dependant. D'oooh

Hey, I don't know the city lines there, so if there's a suburb underwater, I'm sure my cousins, also from Indiana, who are working to find people down there are looking for them too.

In the meantime, if someone has access to dry land, it looks to be much better to the West.

Hmmmm ~ seems you have no idea how fast the water came up. I've seen eyewitness reports from near the levee that it took about 15 seconds.

Not sure that gave anybody an option.

Greta did heroic work at the makeshift-hospital in Houston's Astrodome.

Not if they're lying dead on their roof.

>>>>"neighborhoods to the west accessible only by choppers">>>>>

I saw a bunch of small fishing boats (outboards) with citizens wanting to help. I don't know why they aren't, or maybe they are and we aren't hearing about it.

You may not care much for FOX News (and this is not directed to just one poster) but what's the other choice, CNN? Although I do have to say that I like Lou Dobbs' stand on opposing illegal aliens. So many of those reporters just go where they're sent, it's hard to know what some of them really think.

Some of them can't, they are surrounded by water even if their homes and mobile homes are not underwater they have no way out, unless they walk though that sewage :(

So true. I want one of them to provide a kind of animation and show the full thing from the beginning of the winds until the levee broke in NO. Show all of it and have an engineering specialist [or whatever specialist it would be] taking us through it as it happened, showing what it did at different point. Kind of like they did at the beginning of the Iraq war. We see only bits and those are so emotional we, at least I, can't really get a handle on or a visual in my head of, all the devastation.
