Is there any real-time chat place for FReepers-like Mirc or Yahoo or anything?
freerepublic2 is a yahoo group dedicated to FreeRepublic, but rarely do people gather there to chat.
We're not a chat, but an active forum:
www.waronterror.ws
Many familiar and like minded folk there.
Mostly military.
Thanks for the info. It's a shame there's no dedicated live chat channel. I wonder why that is.
live threads & F5 is the closet thing I know of. as far as "live chat" though, I don't know of anything.
What's F5?
refreshes the page
duh, I'm sorry.
Do you guys have yahoo or mirc?
Thanks for the link. I like the looks of it.
The old chat room was kind of fun wasn't it.
I had a different nic in the FR chat room, so you may not recognize me, but I was there.
okay... now I'm curious, what happened to it?

I have yahoo. haven't used Mirc in years. the biggest problem I could see with live chat would be keeping trolls & other disruptors at bay. I'd imagine it would be a mod's nightmare.
I usually don't chat online much, but when i do want to chat, I'm always looking for like-minded people. I like to separate the wheat from the chaff so to speak. And as for trolls, its always fun to watch them get torn apart by FReepers- or anyone with an IQ above 23.
It is still a contingency site when FR goes down I believe. Back then, before JR got the new servers FR would crash frequently. It was more like a bar room atmosphere, music and all sometimes if you had mic and speakers, nothing serious, just a meeting place where Freepers would go waiting for FR to get back on line.
Sounds like fun. Just what I was asking about. Throw some topless women in there and I'd never leave the house. Just kidding.
FreeDominion has also offered to be a contingincy site...and is a lot better than Yabbbooooo.
