She knew that Palmer was killed for info he had on the terrorists. When she got the evidence proving she had spoken to Palmer, Walt Cummings stole it from her. Cummings convinced the Prez to send her away saying she was unstable.
Oh course the prez knew nothing about this. He was too busy getting the Russians to sign an anti terrorist bill.
