You know, there isn't that fine a distinction between being tough, pragmatic and realistic, and just plain mean spirited...

you've got issues...

But I guess Sean Penn is legit enough in YOUR eyes that you would want to wish death on him.

Me personally, I couldn't care less.

Clean up your own puke, I'm too busy laughing at your drunk arse....

I remember 'Til Tuesday very well as they were from the local area and I remember them when they were just getting started back in 1985. Very talented band and they should have been much bigger than they were. I don't think their record company promoted them very well. Had no idea Aimee Mann was married to one of the Penn brothers.

We all have our reasons. Some of us are warm fuzzy and yummy, some of us look at life through different eyes. It all depends on your experience. My have to do with the nearly 30 funerals I went to between 9/11/01 and 10/11/01. You have your reasons for the way you are, I have mine.

If you enact the penalty of death upon a criminal, you are in no way wishing for their death. They have brought that burden upon themselves. Justice is not an emotion, a wish implies one.

I agree with you. Your answer was rational and well said.

I didn't feel trapped by your question. I have no problem reconciling justice with morality. It is moral to "punish the wicked" as it is written in the bible. It is immoral to wish for bad things to happen to people, IMO. What our soldiers are doing in Iraq is Justice. They are doing a morally right thing and need and deserve our support everyday. I don't wish for the death of the terrorists. I hope for them to have the fairest justice enacted upon them, and if that includes them being put to death, either by one of our combatants or through execution so be it.

"Since when it is a Conservative principle to wish death on someone?"

Dogbarktree never said he WISHED Shen Penn dead, he said; "The wrong person died."

I would almost bet that every person on this thread has at one time said; "The wrong person died." Take for an example: A drunk hits another car and a young child is killed and the drunk lives. I know I have said at the time; "What a shame, the wrong person died. That didn't mean I wished he was dead.

Yes, wishing death on Sean Penn is not only a bad thing, it's an evil thing.

If this young lady had a fatal accident and someone said the wrong Bin Laden died, I wonder how many do gooders would condemn the remark?
