How fast you drive is nto something that can be regulated? You think you are free to do anything without being responsible for it?

Are you free to murder someone with impunity?

How much money you make? Well sir that dpends on how you mak it now doesn't it. If you make 5 million dollars by smuggling illegal aliens into this country it is noone's business but your own? Please broaden your scope and open your mind a bit to what it is you are saying.

Good question.

"He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

We are at an interesting place in history. In city after city in the west, the quietest time of the week on the highways is Sunday morning as the majority of our populations don't go to church. Christians are a minority population here, and while we are politically organized enough to have pull at the present time, I think if 100% of our population voted in a referendum on our values (especially those regarding abortion and premarital sex), some of us would be shocked at how sound a defeat we would suffer.

Regarding the mark of the beast, I don't know that a national ID card is it. There seems to be an aspect of allegiance or worship in the above verses that goes beyond just buying and selling.

The latter-rain pentecostal fantasies aside, I think I will live to see the day that membership in the christian church in the west is embraced to the same extent as membership in Al-Quida is today. When that day comes, and to participate in American civic and commercial life you must renounce your faith, you will have seen the arrival of the mark of the beast.

These things don't happen overnight, so things like social security numbers used in commerce, National ID papers, etc are all precursors designed to change the course of the Titanic. It's coming though.

Ok then you can't answer the question in a logical fashion.

I see you come into threads like this and flame and debase people constantly. But I have yet to see a logical argument from you.

Just making sure.

Have a great weekend.

Why not just make a passport that is the size of a DL?

Actually, they should make passports larger. That would make it easier to secure them, while limiting them to the few occasions (e.g. voting) where the government has a legitimate need to require a citizen to produce secure ID.

So, don't get one. And when you're refused a job because you don't have an ID, you can decide whether it makes logical sense.

Some people just refuse to understand what personal responsibility is when it comes to the choices they make. Many people seem to think that if they make a choice that has a negative outcome, that somehow their rights are violated.

The Fopunding Fathers would disown you for wanting a national ID.

Madison and Jefferson didn't need ID.

They aren't easy to replicate and the technology to ID them has existed for over 30 years.

What happens if the system gets hacked? You can change a PIN, etc. but not your iris.

This ID form will not be used to target you for punishment due to race, creed, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference or anything of the kind. This ID will be used to make ordinary functions in society be orderly, organized, and far more efficient than it is today.

Kaylee, I agree. Assiging an ID is a very different thing as opposed to inserting a chip into your body. I oppose forcing the chip on people unless of course they are convicted felons. At which point they have made the choice (thru their actions) to have a chip implanted in them.

No, people aren't all "good germans" like yourself. We think in a free society that we don't need to have tabs kept on us by the fed. Personal responsibilty doesn't mean doing what's right because the goverment is watching.

I bet you don't want anyone accessing your bank account do you? I bet you do not want anyone accessing your FREEPER account either do you? I bet you do not want anyone accessing your computer either huh? You would surely want to know the ID of the person that did any of these things wouldn't you?

You say you do not want yourself to be ID'd but then you would demand ID of anyone that wronged you. Not to mention claiming that law enforcment would be failingmiserably when they could not do so!

Selectivness on this issue make you look like a hypocrite.

When you are properly ID'd you are more secure, not less secure. Ask the Duke fella about the ATM camera pictures of him and the account activity he made at that ATM. He is protected by his ID because it shows he could not have committed the rape he is accused of!!!!!!

Care to try again?

Yes but in many cases I still have the OPTION of volunteering that # depending on the circumstances. This nonsense about everyone now being forced into mandatory ID's because the fedgov has failed miserably to protect the borders is pure idiocy and it's right out of Hegelian playbook.......problem, reaction and solution (to the problem they caused to happen).

These are risks I'm willing to live with.

As I stated above, freedom and liberty are risky and dangerous. But'chu know what? I'd rather assume that risk and live free.

Its those who see no threat in this who are blind and not exercising the eternal vigilance that liberty requires.

You clearly have not read any writings of the Founders on the Constitution. If you really don't understand the concept of a constitutional republic, I suggest you at least read the Federalist Papers. The antifederalists were right, but that's a whole other topic.

Laugh all you want. It is obvious you are completely ignorant of history. I suppose that can be chalked up to a failure of the government school system--yet another unconstitutional federal venture.

Oh, sure. It isn't like the federal government to abuse it's power. How silly of me!

Your ignorance betrays you once again. Governments love faithful, unquestioning citizens like you.

ONE ID that functions for firearms and ammo purchases, taxes, voting, driving ability, banking ability, purchasing in general etc etc etc would SHRINK beauracracy NOT augment IT!!!!
