It wouldn't have been there if the head blow had happened after her heart stopped pumping.

It what? The livor mortis?

I'll be busy for a while so if y'all don't hear from me right away, that's why.

She was a good cop who was given no back-up that day. She was there to help the Ramseys in a traumatic situation and John treated her like she was invisible and ignorant.

Her forté was working with female and child victims of violent crime, for which the department had awarded her.

When all the bad breaks happened because of the Ramsey crime, she was made a scapegoat by the whole department and blamed for foul-ups that weren't her fault. She wasn't even given the handbook for the very rare crime of kidnapping for ransom. None of the other cops or her boss or anyone helped her.

It was a very unfortunate situation. The perp of this crime got some incredibly lucky breaks and they started with the very first patrol cop who answered the call that morning, long before Arndt got there.

The pads were all around the house, but the Sharpie pens were kept at a little built-in desk area in the kitchen.

John brought the pad to the detectives as a sample of Patsy's handwriting, in a box with other things to give them. The assumption was that it came from that kitchen desk area by the phone, where the Sharpies were.

I thought it was a little odd to leave one detective at a house when no one is really sure WHAT is going on...

All my JBR notes are scattered on many disks and CDs and not easily found - that's where I have the answers to the paintbrush question.

I tried to google just now and see if I could find the brush size and measurements in another forum where we all worked on this, but didn't see that anyone had them easily available - I'm sure they're in an archive somewhere.

We had to piece together the length, from knowing the size of the garotte handle, then having to estimate the size of the brush end found in Patsy's tote, without being able to see the whole thing in the crime scene photo or having anything relational for comparison.

That would've given us the length of the missing piece which was most likely used to assault JonBenet sexually. So, I'm not even going to try to hazard a guess as to the exact brush we all bought and used for the experiments.

I bought some similar ones in a cheap package to do the breaking. If you think it's easy to break a 10" paint brush about 1/2" in diameter into three pieces, go ahead and try it. Especially try to make the 3 pieces equal the lengths we know about for those pieces. It's very hard.

Of course, the perp wasn't aiming for specific lengths - but I'm sure the "handle" or "Korea" portion needed to be close to the width of his or her hand. A few of the tiny shards were found outside the door to the wine cellar and IIRC, some in the well of the tote itself.

As for a baby monitor, I'm not aware of any being in JonBenet's room and I'm sure it would've been mentioned.

However, they did have an intercom at the front door and I lived in a house in the 1960s that had those built in each room, so it's possible they had a whole intercom system throughout the house, but no one ever confirmed that for me when I kept asking that question and I never saw the speakers in other rooms in the photos.

No one knows for sure when the perp wrote the note or left it on the stairs, so no one knows for sure what day "tomorrow" was supposed to be. It could have been found in the middle of the night and meant "go back to bed for a while."

I meant that D Pride called the "unsub" from the bus "Karr" in the written account of the encounter on his own web page.

She didn't know, either, and was silently counting her bullets because she was so outnumbered by all the circle of friends.

Not sure I follow what you mean?

What's a tote? And what's that all about?

That's messed up. I'm no LE expert but they're should have been at least two uniformed police there to assist detectives...and protect them. Another detective would've been nice. When did the FBI get there?

They were there from the start, but monitoring the situation in their own way. You will hear varying stories about it - John says they weren't there, others say they were. I believe some was covert surveillance.

The main thing was they didn't believe it was a real kidnapping or real ransom note.

Did I say tote? It should have been the ransom note, could've been found in the middle of the night. Sorry.

"It wouldn't have been there if the head blow had happened after her heart stopped pumping."

It? You mean the blood in her head/skull?

There is always blood in our head (scalp, arteries and veins) right?

From what I understand of ligature strangulation, the ligature cuts off the flow of outgoing blood (the veins) but not so quickly on incoming blood (the arteries). That's why petechial hemorrhaging occurs. The little capillaries and such just burst under pressure (too much blood coming in, not enough going out). Do you agree with that?

So there would be blood in her head. Maybe even a little more than normal. I'm reading about hemorrhaging now so that I understand the process better but if there was no trauma to her head prior to being found, then all of the blood should still be contained in the blood vessels in her head, right? Some of them may have burst (petechial hemorrhaging) but overall they would be in the vessels. Correct? Because there was no trauma to force the blood out of the vessels, right?

There would be settlement of the blood after time. I forget the technical term but that is what causes livor mortis. The heavier cells (I think the red ones) settle on the bottom.

Do you agree up to this point?

That's as far as I am right now on hemorrhaging so I'll read more. I'm trying to figure out at what point your thinking became different than mine.

The blood wouldn't have been in the places in her brain where it was.
