The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Posted on 12/01/2006 12:55:15 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

There is a Camp Bullis near what I think is the place that is interested in Steve...

Wonder if they have UH-60s fly over...

Yeah, but San Antonio is the home of Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), where the military sends all burned warfighters. It's also the home of the Center For The Intrepid, that nifty new rehab facility for those wounded in combat.

And there are oodles of Army and AF bases in San Antonio ...

Does the 5000 mark mean it's almost time to move?

But...but...I only just got the room the way I like it....

Oh well...

DIBS ON THE FIRST ROOM ON THE LEFT with its window overlooking the garden and the wee fireplace in the corner and the cruxlvifivic hootenanny lappadapp

It's supposed to be, but sometimes we've been late.

Are you eager to go? Got collectors looking for ya or something?

San Antonio... Isn't that where Boot Camp is for Air Force?? (I would ask PE, but he is in New New Orleans right now - and off to Atlanta tomorrow. Hopefully he'll be home by Saturday.)

Seriesly, though, SA is in a really nice part of Texas. Is a lot of history in that area as well as beauty.

Ditto

Your Dominant Intelligence is Logical-Mathematical Intelligence
You are great at finding patterns and relationships between things.
Always curious about how things work, you love to set up experiments.
You need for the world to make sense - and are good at making sense of it.
You have a head for numbers and math ... and you can solve almost any logic puzzle.

You would make a great scientist, engineer, computer programmer, researcher, accountant, or mathematician.
What Kind of Intelligence Do You Have?

Yes, indeed ... every airman attends boot camp at Lackland AFB, in San Antonio, my hometown.

I believe every Army doctor and nurse go through Fort Sam Houston.

It's a military town, what with three bases (used to be five, but two have been converted to civilian use).

I love San Antonio ...

My mom's sister and her husband retired from the Air Force and stayed in San Antonio (heh, his first name was "Houston").

They've both passed on, but I have cousins that still live there.

I have cousins there too. My maternal grandma's sister and her husband settled there. They have passed away, but their children and grandchildren are still there. We don't see them very often. It seems to me that the only times I get to see them are at funerals.

Long day.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love SOX and everything it stands for? It's the finest most well-thought-out regulation... ever.
