AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION: Days 2155 and 2156) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 16, 2006 | All of Us

Posted on 12/16/2006 5:16:12 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of dispair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!

Good morning!!

We, here, will always remember those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

President Gerald Ford's health has taken a turn for the worse. That's all there is at the moment.

As reported here yesterday, scientists in Canada have been able to cure diabetes in mice.

The Iranian President says "no country in the world looks upon America as a friend."

And in Britain, a professor is suggesting that clothes for fat people should have a helpline number sewn into them.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Carolinamom got in touch with Bev.

No power, but a woodstove.

Thank you, lysie, for giving me bevlar's phone number.

I just called her and learned that she is okay. Her power is out but it is supposed to come back on at 6 tomorrow morning, and she will be posting here then.

Last night, she said, the winds were 114 mph (I can't even imagine that!), and trees came down that were so huge that the men w/power saws have been unable to saw them. All roads are blocked/closed.

Her daughter is w/her tonight for a "girls' night" since bevalar has a wood stove for heat but her daughter doesn't.

Tonight, the winds have calmed down, she said, and she is fine.

I know that all of you will be as relieved as I was to know that she is safe and fine***

Guennie, I think Hubby has it right. I think CHRIST'S birthday has been hijacked by business sales. Our stores have been pretty shoddy compared with years gone by.

I'll be lurking for awhile. I slipped and broke the end of my radius bone and it moved a bit. My Dr is going to try and move it back in place, if it won't do that, he'll have to operate and put in a pin.

King Arthur, take care and do what Grennie tells you to do. Fill the tub with hot, hot water, close the door and breathe the steam. Our lungs are like a tree. The bromchial tubes are the trunk and the cells in the lungs are the leaves. As you breathe the moist air, the leaves expell the icky stuff. Take care and God Bless.

Thank you lysie. I will. I'm NO LEFTY, so with the right hand bunged up, Roomey has to do a lot of stuff he's never done before, like wrting some checks. lol

I'm happy to see you're doing better.

We usually have a good group for Christmas dinner. One of our guests has a son, who is a chef. When she saw me take that fall, she called her son and asked him to help out, here. Not only is he going to help, but asked another chef to take his place at the restaurant and will do the whole dinner for us. Sunday, we're having a menu planning hour. This sounds like fun, I've never done any of this before.

Get well prayers for those who need 'em. Can we put a special wing there for two of JT's buddies? They were doing their jobs the other day when snipers appeared and those two were wounded. They're both back in Birmingham, one will need extensive facial reconstruction and the other "isn't very bad at all." JT was not out on that particular detail.

I was drifting off to sleep last night, about a quarter to midnight, when hubby comes in, wakes me up and hands me the phone. JT is fine, he's no longer driving "that whiney LT around" but hasn't yet gotten to return to his gunner position. He is now driving trucks, really big trucks, around.

He's found a Bible Study to attend although perhaps he needs prayer in order to get along with his roommates. They're "bugging" him. I think it is the mere fact of having roommates.

He also wants me to find something "romantic" for his girlfriend and ship it to her. He has already bought her one present because she really needs it.... AN ALTERNATOR for her car. Just like his dad. But at least he realizes he better not stop with that.

If I think of anything else that I can share, I'll post that, too.

The choral thing sounds wonderful (as does, always, the Hallelulah Chorus). With the world's worst voice and certainly no ear was in Presbyterian Childrens' Choir. The best time ever as left with "sing-along" remembrances, words, etc (only in private of course)

Merry Christmas

Send her flowers. Better yet, if JT has internet access, he can do it from there.

Ev did that last year for Christmas.........it meant SOOO much to Katie.

So sorry to hear about his buddies.:(

Glad they're home and getting the care they need.

Ev wants to go back. Not right away. But eventually.

I'm home between gigs.............need to grab a quick snack and get back to work.

I am not surprised that Ev wants to return. Our troops have a high committment to the mission.

Sending her flowers isn't enough. JT does that all the time.

G'afternoon all yalls!

Well .... I have completed my Christmas shopping .... I have found a place which sells John Deere stuff ... Har! My daughter's boyfriend is nuts about all things John Deere ... even though he lives in Maryland. I bought him a hat, a sweatshirt and .... wee little tractor ornaments for the tree ... also a t-shirt which says ... No one worth knowing drives a red tractor .... *grins*

Guennie ... I have found that shopping in family owned operations brings this Season-of-Miracles closer to my heart ... the malls make me want to gag. I am growing less and less tolerant to the mind-numbing superficiality (is that a word?) ... which permeates retail centers during this time of year. Know what?! I had people wishing me a Merry Christmas .... even one who said God Bless you and have a Merry Christmas ... made my heart happy.

The Coopster! Yes .... mud worshipper ... LOL! I like that. It's good to "see" you!

hayburner .. your name makes me wonder .... do you farm?! Seriously ... since I have moved out here I have gained such respect for farmers ... I marvel at their work ethic and down-to-earth good sense. I drove by a large field early last spring and several farmers were out using blowtorches setting fires all over the place! That's why I ask about your name. It looked like fun .....

Interesting ... National Geographic apparently believes animals start life at conception ... as they have documentaed the gestation period for several different species .... unlike humans who are utterly worthless until such and such a time still to be determined .....
