AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2216) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | February 15, 2007 | All of Us

Posted on 02/15/2007 5:07:46 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

F

This is the grade snow removal personnel in Virginia get the day after the winter storm. Almost a full day after precipitation of all kinds have come to an end, we have:

** Hard pack in several places on main roads.

** Side streets often unplowed.

** Where side streets are plowed, berms left in main roads

** Roads not plowed to full width

** Turn lanes under impassable amounts of ice/snow.

** Sometimes lanes next to the turn lanes under impassible amounts of ice/snow.

** Lanes disappearing (unplowed) on far sides of intersection.

** Sand? You heard of that?

The only saving grace--it's bitter cold, and snow and ice become less slippery in such situations.

In other news, it is reported that Russia, India, and China appear to be performing a partnership to challenge United States domination of the world.

The London Times, in their article on the subject, writes about how these three countries, together, make up 20 percent of the world's economy.

That's nice. The United States, by itself, makes up 33 percent. Be careful of what you ask, you might just get it.

Oh, and a picture of our challengers...

Let's play, caption the photo...

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Yes, I found two dressses but it took a lot of doing because the clothes are really rather ugly again this year.

I'm a wreck because we're hosting a big party Saturday night and a new neighbor is coming who lives part time in Zurich; he's a board member of their stock exchange. So we're cleaning like mad; I hadn't realized how I'd let things go since my sister was here.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Understand, but don't wear yourself out! Something about this weather is making me tackle some long-postponed jobs. Yesterday it was the glasses, today it's fixing a few spots of loose wallpaper in one of the baths!

Just heard on the radio: there's a fight over Anna Nicole's remains....UNbelievable.

Well, I've given my husband a Honey Do list and he's tackling it one item at a time. In the old days, I just prepared by myself but I can't do that anymore; I just don't have the energy.

It's a good time for us to get to these projects, Molly, since it's cold. In a month or two we'll be glad we got it all behind us so we can enjoy the warmer weather.

It was 23 degrees in central Texas and by 0900 it was up to 28 degrees. Beanie, our outdoor pup had her nose against the patio door waiting to get in. Of course, she spends most of her time in the house when the weather is too warm and when it starts getting cool, now it's cold, so she sleeps on her warming blanket in the garage, but come daylight, she thinks it's time to come inside. So much for being an outside dog.

Wow. You should've seen my dog scury out the side door today, do her thing, and scury back. And when she had #2 last night, that was a quick one too. No loly gagging around like most nights trying to find the right spot. LOL. Dogs are great.

I'm reading Jeter's book and got a jersey for my Bday. But I think I told you about the jersey already, and may have even included a graphic from Dick's Sporting Goods if my memory serves me right..... See, not getting that old yet. LOL!

Thanks so much for steering me to Diane Ravitch's The English Reader, Molly. I've ordered it and will certainly enjoy this anthology.

I've also been enjoying reading Elizabeth Kantor's The Politically Incorrect Guide to English and American Literature, a Christmas gift and an excellent consideration and analysis of the best Western literature that, unfortunately, is NOT being taught in our schools/colleges...and that's the premise of the book.

(One consolation to being my age is that I DID have teachers who taught the classics. Kantor's book gives new insights into them, and I am enjoying this bonus.)

Boy, you aren't kidding about the clothes this year! Again, Talbot's has let me down. I guess I will make do with what I have and order some polo shirts and tees from Land's End which I will mix with things I already have.

There has to be some place to get clothes that don't look like retro seventies!

Did I ever tall you that a friend of mine used me as a source for students in his middle school class? I would get calls from kids who would ask me questions about history, literature, poetry, science, etc.

It was pretty amazing, because the questions were about things which I thought were common knowledge.

I don['t understand the desire to ignore such great contributions to Western civilization in favor of pop authors who will be forgotten in 20 years.

People here have asked me what JT is doing now. My stock answer is that he shoots people and breaks things.

I cannot believe that this Anna Nichole Smith hearing is being carried live, and I cannot believe that the judge and the attorneys sound like such unprofessional IMBECILES.

That is absolutely crazy and explains a whole lot why the sheeple vote the way they do. Shallow, shallow, shallow.

I read only the article announcing her death. And then, I've avoided it all. Shoot, I read more about Barbaro than her.

The hand is improving, BUT I can't put weight on the wrist, like picking up a pillow, or a drink, or a plate, without pain. So, the doc is sending me back to the hospital for another x-ray. She said that sometimes green stick fractures don't show up immediately. There is still some swelling in the area, too.
