Sorry for being away for the past several days.

Folding@Home has finally released a BETA SMP client for Windows. This is great news for anyone that has a dual core chip and is running Windows, not Linux or OS/X.

It means better utilization of your CPU to fold and advance science. It might also mean more points for you, not that any of us fold for points ... ;')

I will not be able to touch this for at least a week. If any of the gurus out there have time to install into a fresh dual core system please help us by experimenting with F@H SMP.

Chips that work are any Intel Core 2 Duo chips and any AMD X2 chip.

Remember, this is a beta and there will be work unit failures. The payback is potentially hundreds of points per day from one system, and the full potential of new chips in Windows running F@H.

THANK YOU ALL!

Thanks.

Better not risk the beta on my tricky system.

Please let me know when it's debugged.

Blessings,

Here is the link to the Pande group's "SMP for Windows" forum. All the links to the SMP beta that you will need are there, plus lots of threads about getting the clients running smoothly.
