Frankly, I’m happy it is over. We never missed an episode, but I was really was disappointed with the first few shows in this last bit. These really are awful people!

Yeah, the last couple of seasons were getting stale. I suspect the writers got tired of The Sopranos and just wanted to move onto the next project. There are a ton of HBO original series now... plenty of opportunity for Hollywood writers to "grow", I would imagine...

Bobby said you probably wouldn’t even hear it coming, everything just goes black.

But Bobby obviously saw it coming... Of course, Phil didn't.

Oh yeah, well I don’t have a computer and I have never used the Internet!

That explains why you're not logged-in!

When the scene first opened in Holsten’s, it showed a group of people in the dining area. I thought that was Tony and Carm and some friends -— and then it showed T at the mini juke. I was a little confused.

I think I want to watch the ending again on tomorrow’s rerun.

I was confused by that scene as well. I'll probably watch it again just to pick up any nuances I may have missed. I admit the last five minutes or so were tense, but..... nothing happened!

Why were they eating greasy onion rings and drinking Cokes in a diner like that anyway? The Sopranos were known for their love of fine, authentic Italian cuisine. Very strange, IMO.

"One thought, the ending was from Tony’s point of view as he is whacked. Everything just ends instantly, right when you least expect it."

(Damn!) already deleted it, but in retrospect I think you got it.

Flashback shirt, antique diner and music, everybody happy (Willow no longer the self control freak & AJ acting almost human)....

Tony gets his notice and goes out remembering the good times.

Or, "Nothing can top the crappiness of the final Seinfeld, but this ending was pretty sloppy.

Mine's better.

How do you think David Lynch would've ended it ? Anybody remember the mess that was "Twin Peaks" ?

Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

"Tony...goes out remembering the good times."

I should add that my opinion all along has been that Tony is a fairly decent guy trapped (literally) in a really, really, lousy job.

“Killing off a hundred million dollar money making machine so some fancy smancy hollywood speedo wearing artiste’ can make people guess at the endin’”

I have to agree with you about that. This show has without a doubt been the best show on tv since it began. Only a few can come close to this.
And to end it with some “keep them guessing” ending is amutuer hour. Talk about ruining a classic.
The show is ending so why in the hell would you concern yourself with a water cooler ending where they want every one discussing and inventing their own endings. This isn’t american idol. What a joke.

somebody promise me, if they see my body about to get run over by a car, MOVE MY BODY, don’t try to get in the car and put on the brakes!!
Even if your helpless grand kids are strapped in the back seat?...

Not me, use me for the wheel stop or go for the brakes, save the grand babies at any cost to me.

I think you’ve got it.
I just watched it for the second time to see the ending as I thought I missed something. I’m still confused.
Will miss the Sopranos. I still miss Rome.
Have to say I really enjoyed John from Cincinnati.

I also thought the ending was great but I thought the fade to black was intentionally ambiguous - they became so real that we know it will continue but we can’t watch any more.

Did he get shot?
Will he get indicted?
Will her daughter marry the man who winds up opposing Tony?
Is A.J. growing up or always the same?

We’ll never know, but he left the impression that the Soprano’s world goes on without us.

Yes it was called HBO giving all the Sopranos fan the middle finger. I will never ever watch a HBO series again. They are a worthless heavy left channel.

We should have suspected Chase would do something like this. Remember how the series was originally going to end last season? Just a shot of the back yard, nothing happening, life goes on. Oh, maybe a bear will attack.

Maybe we should refer to this as Chasing the bear. Just about as creative as "Happy Days" jumping the shark.

Cut to a black screen is about as original as the infamous "Dallas" dreamed season, where Bobby re-appears in the shower.

Maybe the whole series was a dream? Next thing you know, Tony wakes up from a dream. Can you say "Newhart?"

This show has without a doubt been the best show on tv since it began.

I'd urge you to watch "The Wire", also on HBO - The Sopranos has been a remarkable show, but IMO The Wire is simply the best drama that's ever been on television. Absolutely amazing writing and acting.
