PLUS, I have pretty good health insurance.......Now that is a pickup line it hadn't really occurred to me to use. "Hey, babe, I have Blue Cross and I just met my deductible."

That sounds like good advice, Judith. I have an interesting "dilemma" myself . . .
I am interested in -- no, completely captivated by -- a young lady who is involved in what may be a somewhat-serious relationship, but I do know that it may be in some trouble.
I'm wondering how should I go about approaching her in a delicate manner, without sounding like I'd love to be "dancing on his grave." LOL.

Just be friendly. This woman is emotionally taken, already.
Not fair to interfere, unless YOU wouldn’t mind if someone interfered while you were trying to work things out with YOUR lady, someday.
Just sayin.

Let’s see... how about...
If you were a burger at McDonald’s, you’d be the McGorgeous.
You see my friend over there? He wants to know if you think I’m cute.
The only thing your eyes haven’t told me is your name.
Are you going to go out with me, or do I have to lie in my diary?
Do you have a name or can I just call you “mine”?
I hope you know CPR, because you just took my breath away.

Also she would not be in a good emotional state to start another relationship so it would be doomed from the beginning she would need time to recover from the current one before embarking on a new one.

I actually meet my husband here on FR. We both listened to Tony Snow, also a FReeper at the time when he was on the radio every morning.
