The person of interest is a 42-year-old sex offender from Thailand. He's currently being held for failing to register for an immigration violation and denies any involvement in Zina's disappearance.
A search warrant reports investigators on Monday found a girl's undergarments at his home, where he lives alone. He responded to that news by saying he was remodeling the home for his sister.

Prayers for the little girl's family who must be simply devastated...I can't imagiine wanting to be alive anymore if my child or grandchild was murdered.
Actually, this post without comment on it may actually be correct and important. This has happened imho, in some third world countries and now, may be coming home.

I knew she was Russian or Ukranian. I live in Pierce county twenty miles or so from Tacoma, this has been on the news here every day since July 4th and people were very concerned.
I saw a news blip today where they had the perp’s van on the back of a tow truck and I got a really bad feeling about it in the pit of my stomach.
They spent MILLIONS OF DOLLARS going after Martha Stewart, they live in their fancy communities and eat at all the best restaurants, and we, the peons, get to live with this crap.

Even aside from this case, I might wager, Washington is another non-capital punishment state like Oregon, Wisconsin and Minnesota. I’m not perfect on my current events and perhaps there was an execution in one of those Northwest States. A lot of good this would do; to what has been taken!
Reading your profile page; I’m a different type of cyclist from the so-called norm; but I know, Portland and Seattle are just filled with them as well as cycling newsgroups.
I hope they get off their chamois covered cycling shorts behind and take note of this; since the image of many is of being the “green earth” type. There are plenty of cyclists around with some good sense. I mean it is a great invention.

This is the Zina Linnik case.
Linnik was abducted near her home the night of the Fourth of July. She had been watching fireworks when a family member heard her scream and saw a van speed away.
