Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin are disappointed in Fred Thompson’s senate record. I think Thompson won his senate campaign in Tennessee with a conservative platform, so he could have been more conservative than he was.
How do you explain campaign finance reform (it was almost called McCain-Feingold-Thompson) and his involvement with the Council on Foreign Relations?
Romney represented a state that has a higher percentage of liberals than conservatives. When he campaigned in MA, he must have promised them that he would keep their abortion policies as the status quo. It’s tougher to be a conservative in a more liberal state compared to a more conservative state, in which Tennessee tends to be.
I find it really tough to support any of the “front-runners.”
The only candidates I trust to actually do something about illegal alien invasions are Hunter and Tancredo. Of the two, I consider Hunter to be the better candidate.
I heard Fred being interviewed and he admitted that there were parts of the “McCain-Feingold” that he said hadn’t worked out the way that they had intended and if it was up to him they would change.
