My husband and I live in the Exumas...David Copperfield purchased the private island of Musha Cay about a year ago, so this story about the alledged incident taking place in the Bahamas has a ring of truth about it.
The woman told Seattle police the magician raped her while she was in the Bahamas,...was HE there, too? I’ll bet he wasn’t and just tricked her.

exactly I don't believe this. There was a local chicago area 'dancer' who accused Micheal Flaugtery(sp) of the same. Turned out to be a lie.
..but police when given a charge have to do what they gotta do. Such a shame. Wish him the best.
However, is this was a one night stand like the young lady with Flaugtery I hope he learned his lesson.

Tantalizing tidbit that! A lot of women would give
more than their virtue to gain access to such a prize.
Re the warehouse search...I can only think she must have told the FBI about some costume/prop/tangible item she
remembered his having/using while she was being
assaulted.
OTOH, do you suppose she could have dreamed up the
rape once she read he had invested 50 Big Ones for
those private islands? OH, Gilligan!

David Copperfield to ‘magic’ girl pregnant
David Copperfield says he plans to impregnate a girl on stage - without even touching her.
Speaking to German magazine Galore, the illusionist rejected the theory that there were only seven different kinds of magic tricks.
He said: “Bull s**t! There is a great deal of new territory to conquer. In my next show I’m going to make a girl pregnant on stage.”
He added: “Naturally it will be without sex. Everyone will be happy about it, but I’m not telling you any more.”
The magician is currently on tour in Germany with his show, An Intimate Evening of Grand Illusion.
I'd say it has something to do with the investigation being out of the country. The FBI probably needs to be the outfit to work with foreign law enforcement agencies. I don't know if that means that the state court wouldn't have jurisdiction. I suppose they still might.
It seems a little suspicious to me that she didn't report anything to the local authorities, who could have investigated and collected evidence. It's not like the Bahamas are a total backwater. It's a big place with real cops and everything.
Now there's no way to get goood evidence, unless she has something. But that's going to be tainted.
Could well be just a ploy to get some cash. Try this on for size: They meet in the Bahamas, have a vacation romance complete with yachts and villas and walks on the beach, and she's angry because he doesn't call her back when she gets home.
Based on what's out so far, that would have to be my best guess: a shakedown. Her failure to complain to the Bahamian police at the time means that there is probably no evidence aside from her word.
But I'd really like to know why the FBI searched a warehouse in Las Vegas over an alleged rape in the Bahamas.
