In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
Aphorism - \ˈa-fə-ˌri-zəm\
Noun
Etymology: Middle French aphorisme, from Late Latin aphorismus, from Greek aphorismos definition, aphorism, from aphorizein to define, from apo- + horizein to bound
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. For extra credit add links to articles or pictures. The more teacher laughs the higher the grade. Have fun.
you know, i am sorry i brought up the situation at UD because this conversation has devolved into something ridiculous and insulting. i think we are all very aware of the 10 commandments and their applicability to our lives and our code of conduct. we differ in how we JUDGE Dr. Lazarus handling of the situation.
And xs, don't apologize for bringing up a topic with which we can honestly debate. We don't have to have a winner, the intellectual exercise should be good for us.
On some things we will have to agree to disagree. I respect both your positions, mine is just different.
