It was a very l-o-n-g show. The best was David C. with ZZ Top and then Carrie Underwood. Gladys Knight’s video with the 3 Pips, Jack Black, Ben Stiller and Robert Downey, Jrs. was kinda funny. The best was the announcement of the winner. Woo hoo!
My TIVO recording ended right after Ryan said “by 12 million votes”. I was devastated to not see the end. My superbowl was ruined. Okay, a little extreme, but thanks to those of you who update this thread because I knew where to go to get the best info on what happened.
This is really sad I am guy and I have better fashion sense than Carly. Simon was right she is clueless when it comes to fashion. She just does not know how to dress the part of a star. It's like she went she went straight to sleeze 101(today's Britney Spears-Christina Aguilera look)and forgot to become a star first.
Watch your local Fox news in the morning and I’m sure they’ll recap everything with videos and pictures. I’m wondering where David will pop up tomorrow. Maybe Fox and Friends?

Just finished watching it here. I think I’m calling a bit of shenanigans on Simon...offering an apology like that. He knew Cookie was the winner and didn’t want to look stupid.
Cookie told KTTV (Fox affiliate in Los Angeles) that he did not hear the name Cook; he heard Archuleta. When he turned to hug Little David he was congratulating him.
Also, Amanda looked and sounded like she’d rather be anywhere else.
And Jason is a joke.

I like that song. JD Fortune winner of Rock Star INXS did a really great version of that song. I wanted Marty Casey to win but in the end JD was a better Michael Hutchence voice for the song catalog.
LOL -- He didn't appeal to me at the start of the season with his little red paint in his hair and all. But he grew on me and he is just smoking hot now!

Jonny, thank *you* for doing all the work to keep this thread going so that we can all hang out here and have such a great time! I love all the little recaps you do (it helps me keep things straight as the show goes on, and your snarky comments always make me laugh), and you are so great about answering every single post! Hats off to our host! (And I hope I have more time to participate next year. Hah, fat chance! :)
On a different note, I have to add I am so very, very pleased at the outcome of this year’s show! I picked David Cook early on as my favorite, since I felt he had both talent and professionalism, and here he is the winner! Ding dang, whoduh thunk it! I have noticed too, as he has become more comfortable onstage as the season progressed, his apparent real personality has come out more and more, and now it’s obvious he’s a class act. I actually felt he meant it when he said he didn’t care who won, he was just there to have fun. He seems to have a generosity of spirit which I hope the young people who watch this show will try to emulate. (Oh, and once the stylists got him in hand and gave him a decent haircut, the Cookie Monster became quite a yummy cutie! Don’t tell my husband I said that! LOL!)

The poor "Moses" man was mentally retarded and it really isn't so fun to make fun of the poor guy trying his best. I can't really laugh at the handicapped. So I am glad they did this cheest silly guy who at least knew what was going on.
I love when George Hamilton says "But what about the Peppoles". It is a really funny movie.

I loved David Cook’s performance with ZZ Top. He was really getting into it. Loved that little “leg” work he did in the middle. Cracked me up. The right David won. And he is a kind soul, he was so solicitous of the young David. I still think Simon might have done his verbal jab at DC last night in order to give him a leg up in the voting. Whatever Simon says, the voters do the opposite. So Simon probably did DC a big favor last nite by knocking him. Plus, Simon winked at DC after he slammed him, which made me wonder about intent. Well, regardless, bravo DC on a job well done.
