How far down in the soil do I place them??? That sounds like a neat idea.

Hi kassie.

Did you hear from the insurance company about covering gallbladder surgery?

Hope you have a good day.........You’re due one!

36 degrees isn’t so nice.
Take heart.......15 May will be here soon, and then you can play in the dirt and plant stuff.
I can’t wait to plant the Cleome seeds you sent. Will be back north on the 15th, so won’t be tempted to plant before then.

Yes, the dr. told me he says nothing about whether the surgery is voluntary or emergency. He only uses the word elective to let me know it’s not life or death. He said my # is the lowest associated with a gall bladder he’s ever seen and they won’t have an issue with it. He said I should be in horrific pain.

Good! Glad doc won’t say surgery is “elective” to the insurance company!

NOT to be smart but I really don’t know except I do know it does not take a rooster to speed things up. Secondly, I don’t buy my chickens that do not lay brown eggs as I feel they have the best taste.

I neglected my chickens while recuping from my operation and it is takking time to get them to going back into the ‘oval office’ to lay in their nests and it is taking time as they have been laying all over the yard. I am up to about a doz a day now in the chicken house and am expecting two dozen when I get them back on track.

So much for my ‘ranch’ talk.

I walked the place yesterday and man oh man, do I have a lot to do to get the place picked up with down limbs, stuff blown into the wooded part from the high winds we have been having.

To change the subject, i am sick of politics.

I am off to the ‘big house’ to get my dose of ‘youngun’ crying, etc., naw, just kidding, I love it.

Toby

Good morning. No rain as predicted last night, but the sun is shining, so I'm happy.

I'm celebrating 2 events today: my youngest daughter's birthday, and the first bloom of my bright RED peonies.

Wishing everyone both good health and a respite from politices.

Well, it certainly is lovely out there. Went for a walk, ran into a friend I hadn't talked to for awhile...he was walking to Starbuck's nearby, so we shared a little news.

Bit, yesterday's WSJ entertainment section had an excellent article by Joe Morgenstern on movies, and those wonderful silent moments which reveal so much....Bogart and Bergman sharing a look in Casablanca and so on...

Near the middle he discusses some of the current movie stars, and adds this: "(Then there's the singular case of Keanu Reeves, a sub-minimalist on whose perfectly blank visage we can project any damned thing we please.)

LOLOL! Perfectly expressed, don't you say??

And then there's this...In a recent American History magazine, there's an ad for the upcoming 2nd annual GI Film Festival in mid-May, DC. Apparently Gary Sinise was honored at last year's premier event. Kinda nice, don't you think??

And with that, I'll end my imitation of James Taranto's Impromptus :-)))

OK, well he just called and said he was going to Kiron (?) City. He’ll be there until mid week if the weather holds.

You forgot some 'Bottom Stories of the Day' and some 'kerfuffles'..;-))

I liked the WSJ article except for the Keanu Reeves reference. I thought KR was pretty tremendous in The Matrix, maybe because he got into that role more than others. He waqs good in COnstantine and Speed, too (although Point Break and the Bill & Ted movies prove the guy's point)...;-))

Good morning kind lady, looks as if we are going to have a wonderful day, weather perfect and if wasn't a Sunday I would do some work on the yard when I get home from church.

I am SO sick of politics, Obama is the worst thing that could happen to the USA, Hill-O-Ree a certified liar, and so we have to look at McCain, what other choice do we have? None. Suck it up and vote for him, lets just hope he picks a good, likable running mate, noting wrong about being old ya known=, living proof here.

GD had a spend the night party, yep, I did, scared the heck out of them about 2 this morning, they screamed so loud they woke up the entire family, yep, I am the one who got in trouble ya know.

Time to give the ole ‘shack in the back’ a cleaning, can't understand why it gets soooo messed up, well, I won't admit it anyhow.

In closing I am happy to report that we will have no snow today!

Toby

Oh so we disagree about Reeves!? Well you've seen more of his stuff than I have...

AND OOPS, I think it's Jay Nordlinger's Impromptus...my mind is completely boggled these days...either you didn't catch that or you're too much the gentleman to mention it...LOL!

No, I pretty much agree Keanu is awful most of the time...and yes, Nordlinger does Impromptus, so you forgot some music reviews and word usage...;-))

Well it might be Kiron and no city after it. They’ve told him about 4 different towns and each time it’s a different location. The last time it was Kiron City, or so he thought. He leaves at noon.
