Did anyone see the Homerun Derby at Yankee Stadium last night?

Yes, I did, Hamilton was awesome in that first round performance.

Did you hear Chris Berman's slap at Nancy Reagan during his at bat?

By now we all know the story: star athlete to Millionaire to drugged out waste, finds God and sobriety and returns to MLB.

Berman said(paraphrased): 'This is not Nancy Reagan territory, this is reality.'

What cheap comment.

Yeah, I heard that. Chris Berman is an idiot though and NO ONE takes him seriously about anything.

When the telecast first started Berman was on the PA at the Stadium and encouraged the fans to give a big “Bronx cheer” to the HR Derby contestants, apparently completely ignorant to the fact that a Bronx cheer is incessant booing. He is a tool.

You heard wrong. It was uber-liberal Peter Gammons who made the comment. Combine that idiotic statement with uber-liberal Reilly playing the race card and the hype and moronic nature of Krukky, Phillips and Morgan and the broadcast was painful.

I also heard a different common tator say that (related to Hamilton’s profession of faith) that it was “a bad night to be an atheist.

I could just see Jesse Ventura throwing his TV.

By all appearances, Josh Hamilton is conducting himself with grace and dignity. It is too bad that the trained communicators can not do as well as Josh.

I was watching the Home Run Derby last night and could not believe when one of the announcers commented when Morneau came up in the first round that there were too many “white guys” in the lineup. He complained that no Hispanics or blacks were represented in the lineup and actually questioned why Morneau was even invited.

Not only did Morneau happened to win the whole thing but the next batter up after Monreau was that other white guy, Hamilton who became their entire show.

Very disappointed in the coverage.

That was Peter Gammons. I thought it was a low cheap shot.
