Searing steaks is definately the secret. I heat my grill on high and never turn it down. I turn them twice at different angles to get that nice checkered pattern and then yank them off. Even my 11 year old likes them crispy on the outside and hot pink on the inside. My hubby calls me the grill master. He only pretends to grill if there are other men around, lol. He kind of stands next to it with a beer and I keep a close eye on him.
Ah, ok. I didn’t get the connection! But who knows, likely she’s just never been to TX and never heard it pronounced, glanced quickly at it and got it wrong, and now she’s stuck on it that way. I’m just majorly surprised no one has corrected her in the meantime! Oh well, if a hurrican hit Mexia or Bexar County they’d get those wrong too!

Aha, THAT’S what did it! ;)

Edouard is moving toward the west near 8 mph...Maximum
sustained winds are near 45 mph...Estimated minimum central
pressure is 1002 mb...
Edouard is located about 160 miles south-southeast of Lafayette
Louisiana and about 265 miles east-southeast of Galveston
Texas. A turn to the west-northwest is expected later today...
which would bring the center of Edouard very near the Upper
Texas coast or the coast of southwestern Louisiana by Tuesday
morning.
During Rita, geraldo kept getting a town in TX wrong. Luckily, Tony was freeping and got the correction to him.
ping 4 tonight
Interesting:
NASA has just closed starting at noon.
“JSC Will Cose at Noon Today. The NASA Johnson Space Center will close at noon today due to the threat from TS Edouard. JSC will remain closed tomorrow. Senior management will assess any damage and make a Return to Work decision as soon as possible. Employees are encouraged to monitor the JSC Emergency Information Lines (281-483-33351 local and 877-283-1947 toll free) as well as KTRK AM740 radio, the designated Emergency Alert System station for this area for the latest information on Tropical Storm Edouard.”
I can remember having trouble with some of them thru the years, but I didn’t think Galveston was all that unknown, plus, it’s pronounced just like it’s spelled. Makes me think none of them know how to say it! And Geraldo...well, go figure! ;)

Bonus 1.5 vacation days for federal employees. The private sector will keep the economy running.
Your husband is brilliant to have convinced you that what you said is true. Brilliant...maybe he could advise me.
Hubby is leaving from in Houston at noon, his company has let anyone on the coastal areas leave to secure homes etc.
Galveston County is on TV right now with news and all they are asking so far is that those on the West End watch tides and be ready by midnight to move out if it is needed. They are not calling for visitors to leave yet just to alert people to the storm. The mayor is actually saying that people have to be “responsible for their own safety”. WOW, what a concept.
Just watch and wait and if it gets worse, leave.
That's it for now from here.
Stay safe all.
Governor Jindal has declared a state of emergency for Louisiana.
Better prepared than Democrat... Grown up in charge.
BACK FROM THE GAS PUMPS, GENERATOR FUELD, BEER IN FRIDGE, CHARCOAL AND WOOD FOR GRILL, PROPANE FOR GAS COOKER, OK EDUARDO, BRING IT ON.
How’s your ‘skeeter repellent supply?
Plenty skinsosoft.
I see we have a definite eye now and it’s on the move, maybe a little turn to the north.
