Buddy, that bad-boy will break ANY addiction...literally! WOW!!

Sadly enough, me thinks I have just taken on another addiction.

I love 'em both! : - )

I too decided it is time to buy a few more guns because of the possible political situation. I have about decided to get one of the new Remington 700's in 30-06. I have owned several in the past and never had a bad one. The one I looked at frankly looks better than any I have seen.

While waiting to accumulate enough money to but it, I went ahead and bought a cheap little .20 gauge single shot Stevens with auto ejector. It was a bit rusty but looked like it was in nice shape mechanically.

Got it home, took it apart and it cleaned up really well. Metal is basically perfect except for the bit of rust. Shot it and for some reason I really love the little cheapie. I find myself carrying it around the homestead, mostly because it is light and handy. The best part was the price. $46.00 .

We just returned from Cabela’s with over 350 bucks worth of ammo - .308, .223 and .45 auto. The prices have gone up quite a bit since my last purchase.

Ah, now you've done it. Didn't anyone warn you that 1911’s are an addiction?

Yes they are an addiction. I have absolutely no intention of getting over my addiction. I do love the feel of a big chunk of iron in my hand doing better ever day since 1911.

There are actually 11 commandments not 10. The 11th reads,
“Thou shall not mess with perfection 1911.”

:)

Very nice! I don’t have anything with an accessory rail, but have been thinking about it. How do the targets look?

I used to have a Springfield Champion customized by the late Joe Bonar of Novak's that was a really sweet shooter and very reliable, I traded it for a Colt Python. If I had to narrow it down to my three favorites I'd have to say my Wilson CQB, Dan Wesson CBOB, and Springfield TRP in that order.

Kimber's are OK for a mass produced gun, Springfields are a shade better, and recent Colts are over-rated. If you really want a good one you'll have to go to a custom maker.

I’ve always been partial to .45s. I like the accessory rail, competition trigger, and what appears to be a very nice grip. Good choice.

goto a few gun shops and handle every gun you can, when one feels right in your hand, not too heavy and has good balance, thats a start. worry about caliber later.

Usually a medium sized revolver like a Smith and Wesson. Get it in .357 magnum and shoot .38 Specials in it until you get comfortable.

The easiest Autos for ladies with small hands are a Browning designed FN High Power or a CZ75. You should ask your gunshop if they rent those to try out. Please stay away from Glocks. They aren’t for beginners.

A gun is an extension of your hand or arm. A properly fitted firearm is an extension of your pointed finger feeling comfortable in your hand and or forearm. The feel should feel “natural” whether it be in the hand, shoulder or cheek. The sights should lineup with the eye along with the said above. That is why so many models are available. One size does not fit all. I have traded, bartered and bought many firearms through my life looking for that perfect fit. When you find it, hold on to it! It can be an expensive journey!!!
