In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
zany \ZAY-nee\ noun
1. a subordinate clown or acrobat in old comedies who mimics ludicrously the tricks of the principal
2. one who acts the buffoon to amuse others
3. a foolish, eccentric, or crazy person *
* Indicates the sense illustrated in the example sentence.
Example sentence:
My brother's friends are an unpredictable bunch of zanies.
Did you know?
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Here is my example with today's WFTD.
If you're a zany with insufficient vowels in your last name, and insufficient intelligence to make an honest living in a respectable vocation, what do you do? Well, you do like Washington Post news editor Vincent Bzdek and write a book lauding the virtues of Ted Kennedy.
WaPo Editor: Ted Kennedy Is 'One of the Greatest Legislators' Ever (BARF ALERT!)
No pushing at the door please!
Happy Humpday Everybody!
The wednesday subbie wanders into the home office in his new Dallas Stars pajama pants to post the thread!
Get to class you slackers!
First on the last day of the year?

Look for lots of zaniness as the New Year approaches and the Ball begins to drop!
It’s been a zany year.
You want zany? Wait until the day after the coronation.
I just finished Dean Koontz latest book....Your Heart Belongs to Me.....that is one creepy book. Have you read it yet?
I did. It was a different kind of book from Koontz, with the protagonist being a bit of an anti-hero that finds some degree of redemption at the end.
It has been zany, but the word today is the noun form of the word.
I think a lot of zanies will descend on Washington DC days before the coronation and will stick around for several days. There will be so much looting, you would think the Wizards had won the NBA championship or something.
Congratulations. So is this the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning?
Have fun in class today and have a safe and joyous celebration of the new year tonight. I’ve got to go help VRWCbigboy build a fence.
Good morning.
To be honest, I always thought word to be an adjective..............learn something new each day.
(LC sulks away)
So is this the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning?
Yes.
I guess you are not in a blizzard as we are here in the frozen tundra of NY. Have fun.......my husband is out shoveling the latest snowfall.
Zanie was the one that I left Caylee with. She has been her nanny for almost 2 years!
Dallas stars, reindeer.....guess the family upgraded you from the towel for Christmas. lol
