I will be so happy when one fine day you will get on here and tell us that AT&T has finally come through! We will have a party that day! And make a chocolate cake (like that one you showed yesterday.) What a cake. I wouldnt make it because I cant stand frosting that you have to beat that long. I have a candy recipe and I have to stand and stir for about 35 minutes while it cooks. It has to be just right after cooling and stirring to put out on wax paper with a teaspoon. I dont like to fix it because I have had a couple of failures...but many successes. A might long post...sorry! Pinging Kitty because she is in the same boat I'm in with regards to DSL and AT&T not available out in a less populated area (the boonies! LOL). Kitty, I've checked into satellite internet, and you have echoed the reasons I am not interested in getting it. At least, dialup is dependable, and I've learned to live with it. :)
Jaycee, I know exactly what you mean about beating frostings and candies so long. Not for me. I can do some desserts that are time-consuming, but watching and stirring candy to a certain temperature and then beating by hand for 30 minutes isn't one of them. :)

I did read Kitty's post about her situation also! Guess we who have this fast speed just can't imagine how it is without it. I should know if anyone does. When I was first on dial-up, I use to complain all the time about the slowness. And one day 'my computer son' came up and said "Mama, how do you stand this dial-up....we've got to get you changed over." And we did....and I was in shock when I first used the faster speed. So I shouldn't forget HOW IT WAS! Not fun, for sure! Sending smiley daisies for you two!
Gotta get busy for a while! ~smile~
