Burnett actually wasn’t tortured all that much, just electric shock.
Sad fact is, most of his injuries were caused by the explosion that blew in the door, when parts of the door hit him.
It would be nice if at some point the show acknowledged that.

Why aren’t the agents waiting IN the room for the guy to wake up?
