Rihanna received hospital treatment after alleged assault
The pop singer Rihanna received hospital treatment for "contusions and bite marks" following an alleged assault by her boyfriend Chris Brown, according to reports.

Police records have confirmed widespread speculation that the Barbadian-born star is the complainant in the case against 19-year-old performer Brown. A crime report was filed under Rihanna's real name, Robyn Fenty.
Showbusiness website TMZ.com claimed that the 20-year-old suffered "contusions and bite marks" after a reported altercation, which allegedly took place in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Why is the assault “alleged”, but not the hospital treatment or for that matter everything else in the story? Journalist ethics are a complete mystery.
Thie woman was supposed to perform at the Grammy Awards and couldn’t due to the injuries he suffered. Chris Brown makes a good deal of his money from tweeners and teeny boppers. If parents were to sit down with their kids and explain why they shouldn’t buy his music and his sales drop it might do something.

They say “alleged” because of previous lawsuits by suspects who turned out to be innocent.
Well, that's true. But journalists are not always consistent. I've seen stories which declare that "A homeowner shot and killed an alleged burglar last night." That really ticks me off since it given the bad guy the benefit of the doubt but not the citizen protecting his property.
With all due respect, you are repeating the official line of the MSM, that we’ve all heard before. But you haven’t answered the question why other items in the article are not “alleged”, and I have another question, and that is why didn’t newspapers 100 years ago use this phrase? Clue: on whose side is the MSM?
