Every sniveling liberal in the country is looking for a handout. The government yet escapes the responsiblity for setting the stage for this disaster by forcing the bad loans. Dodd, Obama, Frank and Raines would all be in jail if this got the same coverage as Enron.

I am no fan of socialism, but I have to agree that a trader working in an industry that got huge bales of bailout TAX MONEY to save their sorry butts is a poor spokesperson for outrage. A guy like this is way too easy to dismiss.

I’d really rather see angry homeowners who played by the rules, saved, and denied their dreams in order to be able to afford a house, who won’t get diddly-squat from this handout.

I noticed that Gawker hasn’t published my comment, which was somewhat harsh, but respectful. We all know how open-minded those open-minded liberals are about opinions that don’t sync up with their own!

also, I received an automated response that I would need to “audition” before posting. Yes, they actually used that word...

The gawker sites like Deadspin have always had an “audition” filter for commentors. Take a look at Deadspin comments and you’ll see how low the bar is set.

Basically, they’re trying to keep the freeping and spamming to a minimum. Makes sense to me if it keeps impromptu one or two day flame wars off the site - why turn off an active commenter community just to be open to a few site outsiders?

It’s worse than that. If you have your house/car paid for you will be the target for higher property taxes. Lose your job and health insurance, how will you hang onto any house? Folks who take the handouts will become slaves to those who hold the reins. If you own your own house, or property, you will soon be denied healthcare unless you get rid of it. Then, you won’t be allowed to go to church, or speak against the Dear Leader, or have too many children, live where you want, etc. because you will be owned.

These bailouts not only “punish” the responsible, they will drive us into the hills unless we willing put on the yoke to be good little producers for the new utopia.

The POB don’t seem to understand once they kill the golden goose and redistribute the wealth, the damned goose is dead and there will be no more wealth produced to take and redistribute. They dream of sustainability, but have no idea what that means.

The government yet escapes the responsiblity for setting the stage for this disaster by forcing the bad loans.

It's not just that they are escaping the blame for creating the mess but are purposely repeating the very tactics that got us here. They are purposely trying to destroy the economic base so as to install cradle-to-when-we-say-grave rule.

They may set the bar low, but apparently not low enough for me! I still haven’t seen my comment posted, and all I did was call them out on their left-wing hackery (and said it much more nicely than that on their site).
