Good evening!
In another major address this week, President Obama will outline further economic plans: to cut the federal deficit in half over the course of his first term, to raise taxes on "the wealthiest" Americans, winding down the war in Iraq, and it's reported, raising business taxes.
The Republicans in Congress will have their work cut out for them to oppose tax increases in a time of business downturn, but it needs to be done, and they need our help to oppose the increases.
Continue to make calls, emails, talk to everyday folks you know.
I like the one that has the “O iconic images “ and the word REVOLT under it!
Anyone have plans for after 9 pm tonight? I know what I am doing. I am taking a long soak in a very warm tub and just ignoringthe rest of the world for a bit...maybe 50 - 60 minutes.
I don’t know what this response you received is answering, bev. If it’s about SS for illegals, I don’t know about that.
As far as the “not hiring” them, it’s pretty hard for employers who are law-abiding to make sure a Hispanic is legal, since there are so many fake documents now. And an employer who thinks he can avoid this by not hiring Hispanics is then guilty of discrimination, and could be prosecuted by the government.
I’ll be watching college basketball.
Good for you. I’m not into college basketball or college football for that matter. We’re in our sans football time of year here at our house...
Anyone making donuts for Fat Tuesday?
With Bailey’s Cream?
Prayers are appropriate and would be appreciated. I need for this to work out.

Ummm, don’t ah, have a recipe. I KNOW!!! Let’s ask Geee, yes, let’s ask Gee!
Prayers for the needed outcome for you Johnnie.
Prayers going up!!!
There. It was incomplete. And I hope you've played nicely, too.
Thank you for your confidence. I’m trying to write something every day. I have plenty of people around here who are more than happy to critique things for me! LOL!
At this point in my life, I can live with being called a racist. That word has become a magic bullet with the power to stiffle all criticism of any black person. In my experience, much of the criticism is warranted and there are folks who get away with the most awful things because someone is afraid of being called racist. I’m tired of it and I just don’t care anymore.
Caligula is a tyrant wannabe. He just has this pesky thing called the 46% who oppose him. But he’s working at stiffling us, too.
Its called “Better Than Boulliuon”. I get it at my grocery store or Super Walmart, It is sold in the same section as the soups and dried soups and comes in a jar. It has to be refrigerated after opening. I am never with out it. Makes making gravy a snap.
Just got G.S. for nap. Time for a cup of coffee and to chill for hopefully at least an hour.
Baileys Irish Cream Bread Pudding
—
Sauce:
2 cups whipping cream
6 tbsp. irish cream liqueur
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp water
bread pudding:
14 cups 3/4 inch cube french bread with crust, stale
12 oz bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups whipping cream
½ cup whole milk
4 large eggs
½ cup sugar, may omit if you think the chocolate is sweet enough for you
Method
Sauce: Bring cream, liqueur, sugar and vanilla to boil in heavy saucepan over medium high heat, stirring frequently. Mix cornstarch and 2 teaspoons water in small bowl to blend; whisk into cream mixture. Boil until sauce thickens, stirring constantly, about 3 minutes. Cool. Then cover and refrigerate until cold (can be made 3 days ahead).
Bread pudding: combine stale bread, chocolate in a large bowl; toss to blend. Using electric mixer, beat eggs, 1/2 cups sugar and vanilla in another large bowl to blend. Gradually beat in 1 1/2 cups cream and milk. Add cream mixture to bread mixture; stir to combine; let stand for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350. Spray 13x9x2 inch glass baking dish with nonstick spray (I use whatever Pyrex bowl Ive got and Ive never gone wrong). Transfer bread mixture to prepared dish, spreading evenly. Drizzle with remaining 1/2 cup cream. Bake pudding until edges are golden and custard is set in center, about 1 hour. Cool pudding slightly.
Drizzle bread pudding with sauce and serve warm.
Notes
The recipe is pretty forgiving for the bread measurement. You can use one French bread bagette or challah loaf and simply cut it up.
Well, first off, I thought I'd hope aboard trusty rusty and see about getting the ball rolling on a different internet server. Then, I thought I'd write out the lesson on Caleb. How about you?
Nothing much. Research some publishers and also work on an essay praising communnity service a la The Good Samaritan. This would be a companion piece to the Mary-Martha Story done earlier. Then, during lunch, I thought I'd laze around in the wading pool getting a tan and thinking up better titles for my articles.
Sounds good.
They cancelled Idol tonight, to be replaced by THE Idol.
Jem, if your going to talk to your self, don’t do it in print. It’s much harder to fight in the commitment courts. :)
