Good evening!
In another major address this week, President Obama will outline further economic plans: to cut the federal deficit in half over the course of his first term, to raise taxes on "the wealthiest" Americans, winding down the war in Iraq, and it's reported, raising business taxes.
The Republicans in Congress will have their work cut out for them to oppose tax increases in a time of business downturn, but it needs to be done, and they need our help to oppose the increases.
Continue to make calls, emails, talk to everyday folks you know.
We have not actually had thunderstorms, just rain till now now it is thunder and lightening. I am grateful that it is not snow but I am sure that it will be flooding again to Kenosha and Rock county again.
I don’t think many of them had principles and those who did wanted either, to appear non-biased or are just plain greedy and lazy.
It started about 2:20 here. The snow just hit. it's weird though because at some points it looks as though it will never end, and then there's nothing going on outside.
Blustery at the moment. We're forecasted for 6-10 inches. Reckon we will see what comes.
They let us out about 15 minutes early. (The teachers that is....) Drove home in some lousy conditions, but like anything else as soon as you turn off the switch things are forgotten and you start thinking about what to make for dinner. (Spaghetti tonight.) Saying some Hail Marys on the way home doesn't hurt.
Glad you're safe.
If you had chicken pox as a youngster, do get the vaccine. I’m going to after this all clears up. It’s a mess and it hurts.
Whoops... didn’t know there’s another GEE?!
Doggie is doing great!
OK, here is The Plan. In the speech Tuesday night Obama talked about everyone going to college. I couldn’t figure out what he was talking about, but then I saw a story about a program called “Encore” which will encourage people over 55 to volunteer and reward them with tuition to colleges.
I am not foolish enough to think they are going to pay me for volunteering at Our Lady of the Greenwood, so I figure they will send us to places like ACORN. Well, fine and dandy, I will do that and SPY on them. (I learned when I volunteered for the gubernatorial campaign here that all sorts of information is left around because the regulars think the volunteers are stupid.) I will forward what I learn to the appropriate people either in law enforcement or the conservative media.
Then I will take my free tuition and register for a political science class or an American History class at my local university, where I will be a HUGE thorn in the side of the most liberal professor I can find. What’s he going to do...give me an F? Ooooo, scarey! I already have my degree and I don’t care about the grade, only that the kids in that class get another point of view.
And if the professor DOES flunk me because of my political opinions, I will take it straight to the legislature!
Look at all the disarray I can cause, all funded by Obama’s stimulus!!! I think a lot of us should do this, especially retired military guys! Think of how we could put a damper on their plans with a million people annoying Acorn and arguing in classes!! Operation Chaos II! Hehehe.
Noooo! Don't do it. I had chicken pox as a child - really heavy case - and now, about a million years later, I got talked into taking that danged shot by the doctor and not 7 weeks later had a case of the shingles!
Then I find out that it doesn't always work. I wasted my time, money and got pain and suffering instead.
Another woman I know did the same thing and, strangely, we both got the shingles in the same spot.
It all depends on where I am NY. Glad you made it home in one piece also.
Hmm. I’ll have to think twice about it now. Well, there’s a pox on all of us now:(
Have a blessed night.
Hi, JTill. Are you on the Alabama ping list? Some freepers in your area are getting together to plan strategy. I think there may be some info on the state board about it.
FWIW, I am sitting here at home WAITING on the phone company to bring my equipment for the new service. I will buy everyone a dinner at our local restaurant here if it happens today. You must right now be on the ATRW ping list to be eligible.
I WISH YOU
I do not wish you joy without a sorrow,
Nor endless day without the healing dark,
Nor brilliant sun without the restful shadow,
Nor tides that never turn against your bark.
I wish you love, and strength, and faith, and wisdom,
Goods, gold enough to help some needy one.
I wish you songs, but also blessed silence,
And God’s sweet peace when every day is done.
Dorothy Nell McDonald
Good night everyone,
I love that line.:)
Good night Geee!
Good night everyone.
Yes, I’m on the Ping list and I’m going to one of the meetings tomorrow night. I’ll let you know what I find out.
The guy that’s putting it together is encouraged by the response he’s had. Hope it all pans out.
Thanks for keeping me informed. I am there in spirit.
The way I figure it, there is another maybe 40 minutes left in the work day today. It doesn’t look like I’ll be switching servers today. Oy vay!
Maybe but it is highly doubtful. The power is out now and I imagine they’re thinking, “there’s no point in giving them they equipment. They won’t be able to configure it and we’ll just have to wait until Monday.” :(
All that to say: NO FREE DINNERS FOR YOU!!!!
Ok, It’s taco night at the bball game!
Let me guess. It was chicken tacos.
