It's that time of year when the bird's start coming back around as a reminder of spring. You had that and a little good luck going for you.

Sunday Posts at Amy's Place are a blessing.

I had more cardinals this winter than ever. I had 7 pairs at one time..I think they have all mostly moved on this last week but one regular pair..preparing to raise their families. I notice their songs are longer and more beautiful in the early morning. .

I have already done birds in the snow this winter..and you can be sure I will do them again..I love birds.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUG EATERS!

By the later years of the nineteenth century, "Bug Eaters" had replaced "Squatters" as the Nebraska nickname. According to John A. MacMurphy, secretary of the Nebraska Territorial Pioneers Association, writing in November 1894, the bug eater appellation probably originated during the grasshopper invasions of the 1870s. An easterner came to Nebraska to visit relatives and, on his return home, was asked about conditions here. According to MacMurphy's account, the man responded, "Oh, everything is gone up there. The grasshoppers have eaten the grain up, the potato bugs ate the 'taters all up, and now the inhabitants are eating the bugs to keep alive." Some newspaperman heard the comment and published it as a joke.

It is a cozy Sunday here for sure. Probably will have a cozy Monday, too, as the storm worsens.

No sunbathing yet. How you’re having a positivel wonderful day.

It is sunny but chilly..The sun is shining and I am watching the birds.

I had to put my plant back on the patio..The cats were making a big mess and eating the leaves. I didn’t want to take it all the way to the garage last night but tonight I will.
Using the vacuum cleaner so often goes against my nature.

Thank you, JC! That little ‘hello’ kitten is so sweet!

Another birthday party, eh? I have heard that everytime we attend a birthday party for someone else, we become one year younger, ourselves! (Now I know why you are going to so many! I’ll go with you to the next twenty or so....) ;-)

Some other Nebraska nicknames:

THE ANTELOPE STATE
Beef State
THE BLACK WATER STATE
THE BUGEATING STATE
Cornhusker State
Tree Planter’s State

Don’t have the chronological order for them.

Their motto is “Equality before the law”

I notice birds with bright colors such as red cardinals and blue birds out my kitchen window when I'm working in there but don't keep up with their movements. Guess I didn't get the "bird gene", it must be a relaxing hobby, bird watching.

It's snowing here today so the cardinals should stand out if they're around.
